Different waveforms can by created to implement automotive tests using two ways: o Internal AF generator o External AF generator: a BNC socket receives your own pilot signal (amplitude 0~10V). In this case, PS-AVAS is working as a voltage amplifier. Moreover, hardware, software and firmware can be easily customized to satisfy your specific requests for embedded, R&D or production environment. Its width allows insertion in a 19 inches rack, all its connections are disposed on its rear panel. It can be remote easily using protocol TCP/IP on Ethernet link or SCPI on serial RS232 link. It can so be put in an automatic test system using, for example, our software package OPS. 1 / 8

4 2 QUADRANTS OPERATION PS-ABOS power supplies are using voltage regulation with current limitation. In «Q1» area, PS-AVAS is working as a «GENERATOR or SOURCE»: instantaneous power is positive. In «Q2» area, PS-AVAS is working as an «ABSORBER or SINK»: instantaneous power is negative. For AVAS source, output voltage is available up to -5V for dynamic reverse polarity tests AVAS source Current Q1 (U>0 and I>0) Q4 (U>0 and I<0) Voltage PERMANENT WORKING AREAS These diagrams explain relation between current and voltage. Total power in generation and absorption are limited by transistors capabilities. X-coordinates explain voltage, Y-coordinates explain current. Permanent use is allowed inside these areas. 5 STANDARD REMOTE CONTROL Remote control is possible using two ways: Local control: The control with graphics and touch screen device disposed in front panel gives access to all control functions and the display of measurements. Remote control: The control device includes an Ethernet TCP/IP interface and a RS232 interface for drive using the supervision PC. OPS SOFTWARE FACILITIES Puissance + OPS software suite is proposed to drive easily PS-AVAS. OPS1 software allows both to generate specific waveforms and to display waveforms uploaded from acquisition board (when power analyzer option has been purchased). UDC02 library proposes a lot of predefined waveforms. They can be organized to create a complex waveform (see below) for automotive or aeronautic applications. (Example of screen) OPS3 software communicates with PS-AVAS using Ethernet link or serial link. OPS3 can send basic commands (ON / OFF, voltage, max current) and read and display basic measurements (status, voltage, current). OPS3 is used to send waveforms to PS-AVAS. 5 / 8

7 Using OPS1-UDC02 option, it is possible to edit / modify / create all specific waveforms regarding automotive standards for vehicles with 12V, 24V or 48V electric system. Example: Test sequence on the right picture builds waveform for E11 Start pulses: Test case 1 - Cold start with "Severe" test pulse. Each step can be modified amplitude, duration). Time resolution is 1 µs. Test E10-Short interruption Two internal switches S1 and S2 are mandatory to create short interruptions and short circuit on output of power source. Switches S1 and S2 are inserted in the power source (included in option PN- PSA). 7 / 8

8 Dynamic tests with reverse polarity E15 test sequence requires both positive and negative output polarity. This power supply is equipped with option PN-PSA, positive and negative output possibility to generate negative voltages up to -5V.
