1 General Information on the Article 2 and 5 in the Draft Amendment of Technical Specifications for Mobile Broadband Base Station Radio Frequency Equipment In response to the amendment of "Regulations Governing the Operating Items and Scope, the Timetable for Deregulation and the Number of Operators to Be Allowed for Type I Telecommunication Enterprises" published on 18 April 2017, which released 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz frequency bands for mobile broadband services, NCC proposes to revise the "Technical Specifications for Mobile Broadband Base Station Radio Frequency Equipment" by making references to relevant international standards. Amendment points are described as below: 1. Scope (revision to Paragraph 2) 2. Test Regulation (revision to Paragraph 5) 1
2 Comparison Table of the Article 2 and 5 in the Draft Amendment of Technical Specifications for Mobile Broadband Base Station Radio Frequency Equipment Amended Title Current Title Descriptions Technical Specifications for Mobile Broadband Business Base Station Radio Frequency Equipment 2. Scope Technical Specifications for Mobile Broadband Base Station Radio Frequency Equipment 1 To make consistent terms mentioned in technical specifications for radio frequency equipment and terminal equipment of mobile broadband services, the title of technical specifications are amended to the "Technical Specifications for Mobile Broadband Business Base Station Radio Frequency Equipment." Amended Provisions Current Provisions Descriptions This specifications are applicable to the certification of the frequency bands for mobile broadband services such as the frequency equipment of Base Stations, Repeaters, Micro Base Stations, Pico Cells and Femto Cells. Based on multiplexing properties, they can be classified as frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex 2. Scope This specifications are applicable to the certification of the frequency bands for mobile broadband services such as the frequency equipment of Base Stations, Repeaters, Micro Base Stations, Pico Cells and Femto Cells. Based on multiplexing properties, they can be classified as frequency division duplex (FDD) and time division duplex 1. In line with the release of the 1800 MHz and 2100 MHz bands for the use of mobile broadband services by the Executive Yuan in 2017, the applicable scope of the specifications is amended. 2. Article 2.3~2.1 and 2.2 are integrated.
3 (TDD) with relevant frequency sections are identified as below: 2.1 Frequency Division Duplex (FDD): 700 MHz (uplink 703 MHz-748 MHz\ downlink 758 MHz-803 MHz), 900 MHz (uplink 885 MHz-915 MHz\downlink 930 MHz-960 MHz), 1800 MHz (uplink 1710 MHz-1785 MHz\downlink 1805 MHz-1880 MHz), 2100 MHz (uplink 1920 MHz-1980 MHz\downlink 2110 MHz-2170 MHz), 2500 MHz and 2600 MHz (uplink 2500 MHz-2570 MHz\downlink 2620 MHz-2690 MHz) bands. 2.2 Time Division Duplex(TDD): 2500 MHz and 2600 MHz bands (2500 MHz-2570 MHz, 2570 MHz-2620 MHz and 2620 MHz-2690 MHz). (TDD) with relevant frequency sections are identified as below: 2.1 Frequency Division Duplex (FDD): 700 MHz (uplink 703 MHz-748 MHz\ downlink 758 MHz-803 MHz), 900 MHz (uplink 885 MHz-915 MHz\downlink 930 MHz-960 MHz), and 1800 MHz (uplink 1710 MHz-1770 MHz\downlink 1805 MHz-1865 MHz) bands. 2.2 Time Division Duplex(TDD): 2500 MHz and 2600 MHz bands (2570 MHz-2620 MHz, including guard bands 2570 MHz-2575 MHz and 2615 MHz-2620 MHz). 2.3 Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) and Time Division Duplex(TDD): 2500 MHz and 2600 MHz bands (2500 MHz-2570 MHz and 2620 MHz-2690 MHz; either one may be used in these frequency bands; if FDD is adopted then the uplink 2500 MHz-2570 MHz, downlink 2620 MHz-2690 MHz). 2
4 5. Test Requirement Except as otherwise provided in these technical specifications, testing methods for examining emission power and out-of-band radiation emission shall all be processed based on the inspection requirements stated in Point 5 of the Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Requirements). The inspection procedures shall be processed in accordance of the Appendix 1 "Referential Procedures of Inspecting Transmitters" of the Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Requirements). 5. Test Requirement 5.1 Except as otherwise provided in these technical specifications, testing methods for examining emission power and out-of-band radiation emission shall all be processed based on the inspection requirements stated in Point 5 of the Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Specifications (LPRFD Technical Requirements). The inspection procedures shall be processed in accordance of the Appendix 1 "Referential Procedures of Inspecting Transmitters" of the Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Specifications (LPRFD Technical Requirements). 5.2 The carrier emission bandwidth stated in Section of the specifications shall be carried out based on regulations stated in "Emission Bandwidth" of Section 1.12(3) of the Lower Radio-frequency Devices Technical Requirements). 1. In response to the amendment of the "Low-power Radio-frequency Devices Technical Regulations" and the existing regulations for measuring in 3GPP TS , current Article 5.2 is deleted. 2.
