5 EFKA ABA/ABA + ABA/ABA (PL) 5 Use of the C Compiler The Efka C Compiler is a software tool for the programming of upgrade control functions. The compiler provides the following basic functions: predetermined functions which are integrated by means of a system file approx. 6kB for user programs and data error management routine with automatic error marking loader for program storing in the control a multi-tasking time sharing mechanism The control (socket B8) and the computer (socket com) are connected using interface IF-. Set of special C Compiler accessories consisting of: order no. 6 C Compiler Software CD-ROM C Compiler User Manual EFKANET IF- Interface See C Compiler user manual for more information on programming and use of control commands!

8 8 EFKA ABA/ABA + ABA/ABA (PL) Putting into Service Before putting the control into service, the following must be ensured, checked and/or adjusted: The correct installation of the drive, position transmitter and accompanying devices, if necessary The correct selection of the trimming operation using parameter 9 If necessary, the correct adjustment of the direction of motor rotation using parameter 6 The correct selection of the functions of keys (inputs) using parameters...9 The setting of the transmission ratio between motor shaft and machine shaft using parameter 7 The setting of the type of position sensor using parameter 7 If necessary, the setting of the number of angular degrees after the sensor position using parameter 7 If necessary, the setting of the positions using parameter 7 (possible with all settings of parameter 7) The correct positioning speed using parameter The correct maximum speed compatible with the sewing machine using parameter The setting of the remaining relevant parameters Start sewing in order to save the set values See instruction manual for details!

9 EFKA ABA/ABA + ABA/ABA (PL) 9 Setting and Putting into Service with the Aid of the Fast Installation Routine (SIR) The Fast Installation Routine (SIR) passes through all parameters necessary for programming the functional sequence and the positions. Code E F- Input parameter 5 F-5 E >> Parameter for functional sequence thread trimming operations Parameter for direction of motor rotation Parameter for transmission ratio Important! The transmission ratio should be determined and indicated as precisely as possible. Parameter for type of position sensor F-9 E F-6 E F-7 E F-7 E Parameter for position Parameter for position F-5 E F-5 Yes E No P End SIR KL8a The values can be varied by pressing key +/-. When the parameter is displayed on the V8 control panel, press the E key once more for the value to be displayed. Exit the routine any time by pressing the P key once, and select a new parameter. Exit programming by pressing the P key twice, and the drive is ready for a new sewing operation. See instruction manual for details!

16 6 EFKA ABA/ABA + ABA/ABA (PL) 6 Connection Scheme of SMA Stepping Motor Control - Stepping motor control, e. g. SMA - Sewing drive control, e. g. ABA The control (B8) and the SMA...stepping motor control (B8) are connected using adapter cord no. 7. If a light barrier is required for the sewing process, it must be connected to socket B9 on the stepping motor control. The light barrier signal is transmitted via the connecting cable from the SMA to the sewing drive. Should an IPG pulse encoder or a HSM Hall sensor module be necessary besides the light barrier module, use adapter cord no. 9, which is to be connected to socket B9 of the SMA... stepping motor control. Unless a stepping motor control is provided, adapter cord no. 9 for light barrier module and pulse encoder or Hall sensor module is connected to socket B8 of the sewing drive.
