5 Photograph 9. The two baobab trees planted in the 1930 s by Stevenson-Hamilton and will be preserved as natural heritage. The lodge was designed around the baobab trees and the trees will become features within the atrium on the inside of the lodge. Photograph 10. The cycads occurring in the garden will be kept in the Skukuza Nursery during construction to be re-planted as part of the landscaping around the Safari Lodge.

14 SITES PROPOSED FOR PIPELINES, ELECTRICAL LINES AND THE RESERVOIR Photograph 27: The first section of the sewage pipeline will cross over an area previously used as a bowling green and club house. At this section the electrical line will be above-ground and will follow the existing telephone cable route (visible on photo), whereafter it will become underground close to where the SAPS offices are located.

17 ALTERNATIVE HOUSING SITE: Photograph 33: Dense tamboti thickets on the site proposed for housing units between Elephant Road and the Game Capture Bomas. This site was originally considered as an alternative, but the preferred alternative for the units are located closer to the lodge on already developed sites where park homes will be demolished.
