2 INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE AND GUARANTEE The products contained in this technical manual are manufactured (see Technical Manual); according to the manufacturer s technical specifications. - Inadequate storing or exposure of the products to atmospheric The manufacturer guarantees the repair and, if he considers agents during transport or handling when the products are being necessary, the replacement of any product which have been collected by the carrier or, where applicable, when the delivery shown to be defective within a 30 -days period established note is being signed. under Article 342 of the Spanish Code of Commerce. This guarantee renewal will be only valid if the maintenance is carried out by the manufacturer or staff duly authorized by him. The frequency of this preventive maintenance is fixed according to the number of cycles to be performed by a door in accordance with the following schedule: LEVEL User s Intensive Heavy CYCLES Less than cycle annually Up to cycles annually Between a cycles annually FREQUENCY Annual Biannual Quarterly If the following accessories are fitted, the manufacturer recommends a more frequent maintenance - Door-closer -Electro-magnets -Selectors Doors fitted with the above fittings require reinforcement plates in the door leaf and it will be required to duplicate the maintenance frequency specified in the annual cycle frequency table. For fire doors, that perform between 50,000/80,000 cycles annually or those which are exposed to extreme use conditions such as the case of schools, universities, hospitals, supermarkets, etc., Puertas Padilla requires the following improvements (detailed in the Technical Manual); DOORS OF INTENSIVE OR HEAVY USE We have to consider the following: 1.- Levels of use higher than cycles annually are understood to be special, so the frequency of maintenance or the improvements to be made will be determined by the manufacturer s technical department in each case. 2.- The level of maintenance may vary according to the accessories fitted to the product after its manufacture. Under no circumstance the manufacturer will assume responsibilities for defects due to: - Inadequate fitting of the product, that is to say, not fitting the product according to the manufacturer s instructions (see instructions for assembly); - The use of accessories not approved by the manufacturer For single leaf doors; in order to improve the mechanical condition, it is necessary a higher thickness of the sheet, at least 1mm. In case of requirement of accessories, it is extremely important that the fixing and the installation of the accessories are able to support the mentioned level of use (see Technical Department). For double leaf doors; in order to improve the mechanical conditions of the set, it is necessary to increase the thickness sheet of the leaf, at least 1mm. In order to allow the proper operation of the door in the course of time, It will be also necessary the installation of door-closers of 5CEN level. In these cases, the maintenance will be, at least, every three months; if necessary, it can be increased depending on the accessories and the degree. 4 ( E d_ 07/06 )

3 TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE INSTRUCTIONS -Any superficial finish type does not avoid damages caused by an inappropriate transport or storage. CONDICIONES, NORMAS Y TRANSPORTE -The door shall be storage in a dry place against bad weather and humid conditions. -Move with adequate machinery -Do not overlay pallets; respect the composition of the received pallets. INSTALLATION CONDITIONS -Doors have been prepared to be fitted indoor. -Direct exposure to sunlight and humidity can cause sporadic waves in the sheet that may lead into a deformation of the sheet. -Direct exposure to sunlight and humidity can cause a degradation of the internal components of the door. -Doorsets must be protected against bad weather to avoid water leakage into the door. A cover should be provided during the installation. -Between the leaf and the frame can be a different tonality derived from the differences of the finishing or process of a paint application. 5

Circular vision panel ADDECUATE MAINTENANCE OF THE GLASS -EI glass have been manufactured for an indoor use, as they become opaque if the glass is exposed to atmospheric agents or direct sunlight. -The glass should be washed with lukewarm water, a soft fiber cloth and a compatible cleaner applied with a spray. 101 A A ACCESSORIES STEPS TO FIT THE GLASS VISION PANEL FITTING 1.- Mark out the door leaf with the minimum required dimensions indicated in previous pages. 5.- Turn the door leaf over to provide access from the other side and place the vision panel into the aperture. VISION PANEL AND GLASS 2.- Drill through the door leaf and then cut the hole with a jigsaw fitted with a fine toothed blade, pay special attention in order to prevent any delamination of the door leaf. 3.- Locate as many retaining clips as screws have the snap fastener ( not less than 4-6) according to the inferior figure. So it can match up with the location where the screws are going to be placed. 4.- Locate the vision panel in the hole with the supplied self-reaming tapping screws. 6.-Locate the ceramic fiber insulation blanket onto the edge of the vision panel or the peep hole seal if is circular. 7.- Fit the glass by locating the Intumescent seal on the retaining clips until the ideal adjustment is reached. 8.-Locate the second vision frame in the proper position and screw it on. 9.- Cut out the remaining Ceramic blanket. Before fitting the door in the wall, screw on firmly the box to the frame using the screws (A). 2. Once the door is fitted and regulated, insert the selector in the box making sure that it goes towards the primary leaf. Fix it with the screws (B) that are provided in the box. 3. Adjust the selector by turning the regulation screw located in the internal part (and Allen key shall be required). Ensure the selector makes contact with the superior corner of the primary leaf. 4.
