The resolution depends on the optical part of the camera and the speed of image capturing. The camera electronics is included in the customer s optic system. The clock rate of the CCD is 4 MHz. The low frequency generates clean, good quality 1 bit grayscale images. Each application has specific requirements for speed of image capture, resolution, light length, grayscale levels etc. To be able to fulfill this requirements, proper electronics with image sensors and software has to be developed, and light with optic has to be chosen or developed for this application. 3 July, 009 Camera Signal Splitter (CSS) he Camera Signal Splitter T (CSS) is an extension to the BAP imaging products range. The splitters duplicates a single video signal stream in a G-Link standard into two G-Link output streams. It allows to connect two (or more, using cascading technique) image processing units to a same video signal source. All video signal properties, strobes, line valid signals - remain unchanged, as if there were no splitter. The bi-directional control serial line is supported in the master output socket. Only the master frame grabber may control the camera by sending commands. Commands from the secondary socket are ignored. The BAP Camera Signal Splitter (CCS) has one camera input interface and two camera output interfaces to the image processing board. Power supply of the CSS can be delivered in two different ways. One possibility is via a special power socket situated on the CSS, the other is from the BAP IE64_HS board, in case the CSS is plugged on the board. Frequency Range Cascading MHz (960 to 1800 Mbit) up to three levels (up to 8 image processing boards connected to the same camera signal) Area of Application In some applications the speed of processing is limited due to complicated algorithms for image processing. In other cases some parts of the image have to be processed with high priority to be able to take proper action, e.g. to recognize the OCR code on the payment document to have the ability to sort.in those cases it is necessary to split the camera signal into two or more image processing units, to accelerate the processing 3

4 July, 009 he electronics of the T CAM70_SET camera is capable of capturing a true 4-bit RGB image stream up to 7500 pixels in width without a Bayer filter mosaic. This allows a high quality 600DPI imaging of DIN A3 documents or 100DPI for DIN A5 document size without any interpolation. The unit resolution depends on the optical part of the camera, light system and set up parameters of the camera. The camera electronics has to be mounted in the customer s optic system. The camera is able to scan images with a defined resolution depending on the active number of pixels. Image quality may be enhanced further using precise and adjustable color components alignment (re-mapping) capability, LUTbased contrast enhancement module, and advanced debasing techniques. There are several processing options available already in the camera, e.g. horizontal and/or vertical antialiased re-scaling allowing to get images in resolutions different from the native optical resolution. The CAM70_SET works with BAP Image Engines (IE64 and IE64- HS). The IE64-HS supports two camera inputs serviced in parallel at the same time. All necessary image processing functions can be customized using the open interface. Both image processing units have standard USB.0 interface to Host-PC. This solution can be implemented in different paper transport systems to scan images up to 670 ppm DIN A4 format with 00DPI. 5 July, 009 CIS WC Sensor from Mitsubishi with IE64_HS image processing he 600DPI color CIS sensor T connected to the IE64_HS from BAPis through interface board creates very interesting solutions for color scanners. The IE64_HS with lot of algorithms for image processing delivers an entire set of operation necessary for color and blackand-white image treatment. It means the front and back camera can be connected to the one IE64_HS board. Area of Application The scanner based on this electronic is able to solve the eternal conflict resulting from recognition and archiving image requirements. Archiving needs an image which is as close as possible in appearance to the original document. On the other hand, high performance character recognition demands suppression of all useless and disturbing elements such as lines and boxes, which can reduce the efficiency of the recognition process. Such a scanner solves this dilemma in a very well designed way: Bitonal images received after drop out color filter and compressed with Group IV for recognition and color or grayscale images compressed JPEG or JPEG000 for archiving. Everything can be generated of a single document.
