5 1 Overview NanEye GS and NanEye GS Stereo consists of a small form factor high sensitivity global shutter sensor with external trigger properties and frame rate up to 100Fps. The sensor features a high sensitivity global shutter pixel with 3.6um pitch. The global shutter property permits easy synchronization with external light sources or externally triggered events. The sensors data interface provides a bit serial LVDS data stream easy to receive in standard FPGA s or by standard deserializer components. The serial configuration interface is implemented similar to I2C interface, however, with the possibility to connect multiple identical devices on a same bus. The sensor main clock can be internally divided to accommodate lower data rate applications. The external sensor clock is provided over an LVDS differential link to avoid EMI/EMC issues even in case of remote sensor heads with extended connector lengths. DATE: 15/04/15 Version PAGE: 5/20

16 7 NanEye GS Optics The optics available for the sensor is a high performance miniature lens module. It will be directly mounted on the image sensor and has its best focus position defined by design, so no mechanical set of focus is needed. The material is based on glass. The design is made in such a way that the surface towards the object is flat, so the lens performance is not influenced by the medium between the object and lens. Only the opening angle of the lens is reduced when the system operates in water. 17 8 USB Evaluation kit (base station) and Software Optionally with the camera, AWAIBA provides a base station and software to run the camera on a PC in real-time with all necessary image corrections. The complete system consists of the camera, the USB base station and the PC software. The base station is an electronics box which is the interface between the camera and a PC. The camera interface is differential LVDS and the PC interface is USB. The base station feeds the NanEye GS camera with an adjustable power supply. The NanEye GS software runs under WINDOWS XP, Vista and 7, and consists of the USB driver and the viewer software. The viewer software is able to display the image on the PC in real-time and perform the following features: offset correction (Fix Pattern Noise correction) gain correction (PRNU correction) demosaic color reconstruction white balance brightness adjustment grab images storage of raw video files of any length enables external image processing sensor communication over the LVDS uplink for adjustment of exposure time and gain. An API interface to the data stream is available for easy integration in existing display systems and evaluation of image processing algorithms.
