2 Title: Thompson-Nicola Film Commission fonds Dates of Creation: Physical Description: ca. 820 colour photographs and 2 cm of textual records Administrative History: Thompson-Nicola Film Commission was established "to attract and encourage motion picture and digital media productions that will result in expenditures in, or exposure of, the Thompson- Nicola BC Film Commission Area" ( Among the goals of the Film Commission are to have motion picture productions and digital media productions films in the Thompson-Nicola Regional District (TNRD) and to provide logistical support and information to production companies planning to film or filming in the TNRD. The current executive director is Vicci Weller. Commission members include Danielle Dunn-Morris, Denise Recchi, Jackie Wray, Ken Wells, Ray Chatelin, and Stephen Dunn. Notable film and television productions brought to the TNRD region through the work of the Film Commission include 2012, A-Team, Alice, Battlestar Galactica, Shooter, The Sweet Hereafter, and Firewall. Scope and Content: Fonds consists of location scouting photographs taken by the Thompson-Nicola Film Commission in Kamloops and the surrounding areas between. Other records include a small amount of hotel and resort pamphlets, articles and reports, maps, and trail guides. Locations documented in the photographs include but are not limited to downtown Kamloops, Sun Peaks Resort, Harper Mountain, and the Tranquille Sanatorium.
