It's formal enough to pair with a dress and heels, but comfy enough to curl up on the couch with on cold nights. ABBREVIATIONS: dcd (double centered decrease): Slip 2 sts together,knitwise, to right-hand needle, k1, pass 2 slipped sts over (p2sso). k2tog (right-slant decrease): Knit 2 sts together through the front loops. sk2p (double left-slant decrease): Slip 1, k2tog, pass slipped st over knit st. ssk (left-slant decrease): Slip 2 sts, one at a time KNITWISE to right-hand needle, return sts to lefthand needle in turned position and knit them together through the back loops. yo (increase): With the yarn in the knit position, bring it to the front between the needles, [to the purl position], then carry it over the needle, ready to knit the next stitch. Size: Throw is 60" diameter. Project shown is stitched with RED HEART SuperSaver in 321 Gold A, 332 Ranch Red B, 656 Real Teal C, 400 Grey Heather D, 376 Burgundy E, 380 Windsor Blue F and 788 Williamsburg Print G. Materials: Medium weight yarn: 1 skein each A, B, C; 2 skeins each D, E, and F; 3 skeins G. Knitting Needles: 9mm [US 13] 24" long circular. Crochet Hook: 6.5mm [US K-10.5]. Cable needle. Stitch markers. Yarn needle. GAUGE: 10 sts = 4"; 15 rows = 4" in Stockinette Stitch holding 2 strands of yarn together. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the specified gauge. Notes: Body of afghan is worked with 2 strands of yarn held together. It is worked back and forth in rows on circular needles until enough stitches have been increased to work in the round. Change to longer needles as is necessary or work with 2 or 3 circular needles at a time to contain the large number of stitches.
