YOKE CO 49 Sts Rows 1-3 Knit across Row 4 Buttonhole Row -- Increase to 71 Sts K2, * Inc, K1 * repeat between * to last 3 stitches, make buttonhole YO, K2 tog, k1. (To increase knit into front and back of next stitch) (YO method makes a rather large BH; use other techniques as desired.) 3 Ribbed Yoke Sweater - SLH 3 BODY Row Stitches Knit 27 (Left Front), place 30 stitches on holder (Left Sleeve), Knit 50 (Back), place 30 stitches on holder (Right Sleeve), Knit 27 (Right Front) TIP: Holding sleeve stitches on scrap piece yarn rather than on metal stitch holders makes it a bit easier to work across entire body. Just thread scrap yarn through left sleeve stitches, pull gently to draw up stitches, which will bring back and left front of work closer together, then tie ends of holding yarn together with bow or loose knot. After knitting across back, use another piece yarn and repeat process for second sleeve, then finish knitting across right front. 4 Ribbed Yoke Sweater - SLH 4 SLEEVES 30 Sts With right side facing, pick up10 Sts on each of 3 double point needles Note: As you begin round one of sleeve, leave a tail that will be long enough to weave together sleeve / body at underarm join Rounds 1-24 Knit even around Optional: Knit even around until sleeve to underarm measures ~ 2 inches less than desired length from underarm to wrist before starting decrease at cuff ** Model in picture has 26 Rows before cuff begins ** CUFF Round 1 Decrease to 22 Stitches P2 tog, P1, * P2 tog, P2 * 6 times, P2 tog, P1 Rounds 2-8 * K1, P1 * around seven times; i.e. work 7 rounds 1/1 rib Round 9 Knit even around Round 10 Purl even around Round 11 Knit even around Round 12 Using Purl stitches, bind off loosely. Complete second sleeve / cuff in same manner Tip: Bind off using larger needle size as needed to avoid tight edge of cuff. FINISH o Neatly weave together any open space remaining at underarms. o Adjust size and firmness of neck opening with crochet (single crochet or slip stitch as desired; decrease by working 2 stitches tog if needed at each shoulder line for better fit of neckline. o Weave in any remaining loose ends. o Sew on buttons; use sewing thread to reinforce and/or adjust size of buttonholes to match buttons. Optional method: use yarn to crochet around edges of buttonholes.

Rows While maintaining border, work body in stockinette stitch Rows Knit even across Row 37 K4, P1 * K1, P1 * repeat 1-1 rib to last 5 stitches, Increase, K4 (117 sts) Rows While maintaining borders, work 1-1 rib pattern across each row Row knit across each row (garter stitch) 2 ridges formed on RS With RS facing, SC in each stitch across or finish with traditional knitted bind off. DK Sleeves 34 sts pick up sts from holder and distribute on 3 double point needles Rounds knit each round Cuff Decrease to 26 stitches Round 1 - (P2, P2tog) 4 times, P1, (P1, P2tog) 4 times, P1 Rounds work 1-1 rib Round 10 - BO For a relatively loose bind off, working on WS (round 10), purl 2 tog, replace the stitch you just worked back on left needle, purl 2 tog (this includes a new stitch + the stitch you just returned to the left needle); continue returning the stitch you just worked to the left needle before you purl 2 tog again. Repeat this process until there is one stitch remaining, and then finish off as you usually do.
