1 QUILTING CLASS 38 Committee: Cynthia Rabstein ( ), Brenda DeJong, Joanne Henkie, Samantha Hirniak, Ruth King, Elaine McDougall, Marbeth McLean, Helen Meyer, Gillian Robinette INSTRUCTIONS: PLEASE READ HOMECRAFT AND QUILTING RULES CAREFULLY All entries in Class 38 must be in the Exhibit Hall by 10:00 am Friday of the Fair and may not be removed until 4:45 pm Monday of the Fair. No person shall be permitted to enter more than one article per section in each class. Each entry must be the work of the exhibitor, must be clean, and may be shown only two years. Preference will be given to new work. Soiled and damaged articles will not be accepted. Should there be more than six (6) entries in any section, on the advice of the judge, a 4th prize will be given. At the discretion of the judge, with the approval of the Committee Head, a given class may be subdivided to make judging and competition as appropriate as possible. Entry tags must be fastened securely with safety pins. Exhibitors are required to present their current exhibitor ticket and number, with a list of entries, to a director before removing entries. ALL ENTRIES IN CLASS 38 MUST MEET THE SIZE REQUIREMENTS AS STIPULATED FOR EACH SECTION. FAILURE TO MEET THE SIZE REQUIREMENTS WILL RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION. ALL LABELS MUST BE COVERED. OAAS ANNUAL CHAMPIONSHIP QUILTS COMPETITION A COMPLETE SET OF ELIGIBILITY, RULES AND REGULATIONS IS AVAILABLE The two championship quilts (hand quilted and machine quilted) are eligible to compete at the OAAS District meeting in November The winners at District proceed to competition at the OAAS Convention in Toronto in February If an exhibitor does not wish his or her quilt to compete, please state on the back of the entry tag. If the championship winner does not want the champion quilt to proceed, the reserve champion quilt will proceed to the OAAS Quilt Competition. Upon making an entry into the OAAS Quilt Competition, the exhibitor agrees to participate in any promotional activities related to the competition. Prizes will be awarded at the District and Provincial Levels. HAND QUILTED CHAMPIONSHIP: RULES AND REGULATIONS Entries must be solely made and hand quilted by the exhibitor. Entry quilts must be a minimum of 324 (823 cm) measured on the perimeter
