Your profile will help to connect and share some details that are important to you. The my notebook section will help to organize as much of your yarn life as you like! Here, we ll cover: 1. 3 RAVELRY: A SOCIAL DATABASE Facebook & Spreadsheets had a baby Because the main tabs on Ravelry are Patterns, Yarns, People, Groups, Help and Forums, it s important to understand what this means: Ravelry is more than just a place to buy and sell crochet patterns. Ravelry is meant to be used as a lifestyle source and database; imagine if Facebook was ONLY for crochet, and you could easily search, tag, categorize, post and find anything If you can imagine that, you re beginning to understand what it means to fully use a Ravelry account!

While some information in this area overlaps, here are the important details every profile should keep up-to-date: My Profile Important Stuff: , blog feed, privacy settings. Password: Update, change Ravelry ID. Personal Bits: Fun personal stats. Social Sites: 24 Listed. About Me: Bio, images, links.

Let s categorize the options and make sense of them all: My Inventory handspun, stash, needles & hoooks Patterns projects, queue, favorites, library, contributions, purchases Social friends, groups & events, message box, blog posts

9 RAVELRY: MY NOTEBOOK My Inventory handspun: If you make your own yarn (handspun), this is where you can add in your spinning projects and categorize them as a separate yarn stash. stash: Document all your yarn (brand, type, colors, amount). Can link to WIPs and projects to alter stash, can sell or trade, too! needles & hooks: Document all your crochet hooks (and knitting needles) in one place! If you collect sets, this is a great place to keep them organized!

10 RAVELRY: MY NOTEBOOK Patterns projects: WIPs (any status) and completed! queue: Future projects. favorites: Anything on Ravelry (use tags, other search options as you favorite). library: Any ravelry pattern or source (bookshelf); free, paid, books, magazines (sort & search). contributions: If not already on Ravelry, users add patterns & yarn (with sourcing). purchases: Paid Ravelry transactions (even patterns that are gifted to you).

11 RAVELRY: MY NOTEBOOK Social friends: Ravelry accounts you re friends with; all friends (activity, blogs), similar interests, groups & events: Groups you re a part of, events your friends / groups post. message box: Messaging features with any ravelry account, like ! blog posts: Your blog posts, if you added one to your profile. You can link projects & stash to posts, too!

12 HOMEWORK MY NOTEBOOK: PROJECTS Getting familiar with your My Notebook section will help to form good crochet habits! Make a list of the last 3 crochet projects you ve complete (or, the current 3 you are working on): My Notebook > Projects > Add Project Follow prompts, add each to Ravelry no mater completion status. Fill out as many details as necessary (including notes, stash and rating).
