1 Enterprise Geocoding Module Data Version Q Data Update Release tes This document contains information about the Spectrum Technology Platform Enterprise Geocoding Module data. You have access only to the modules you have licensed. To evaluate any other modules, contact your Pitney Bowes account executive for a trial license key. 2 Enterprise Geocoding Module Q Data Release tes What's New This release contains new and updated features. New Universal Data Format The release of the EGM Q2 data update contains a change to its geocoding data installation processor for international data. This replaces the dbloader data installer with an SPD compressed file. This change does not affect any current data flow or how the geocoding data is used. It simplifies the process of installing international database resources. The SPD format also allows the same data to be used in any Pitney Bowes geocoding product such as EGM and GGM. The same media bundles you expect are provided with a new file extension.spd instead of.zip. In addition to the format change, the folder structure has been flattened such that each dataset in a bundle is at the same level. The lib folder is no longer included in each geocoding component. There is now one lib folder for each bundle. Prior to installing the SPD data, you must apply a software product update to support the data format change for each EGM or GGM module that you use. The modules include InternationalGeocodeWorld, InternationalGeocodeGlobal, InternationalGeocodeAUS, InternationalGeocodeGBR, and GlobalGeocode (non-u.s.). Product updates are available for every supported Spectrum Technology Platform version (12.0, 11.1, 11.0, 10.1, and 10.0). See Installation Overview for more information and installation instuctions for SPD format. New Bulgaria Geocoder This release includes a new geocoder for Bulgaria (BGR), with Cyrillic Bulgarian and latinized Bulgarian language support. Data includes streets, cities, and localities (towns, districts) which can result in S4, S5, G3 and G4 matches. Total street addresses is over 229,000. Enhanced Data China (CHN): enhanced premium dataset CN6. data for 60 cities added. Simplified Chinese address support added Chinese output fields available. Place name geocoding and reverse geocoding. Improved matching and reduction in false positives. Ireland (IRL): Added Eircode as additional field. Hong Kong (HKG) Data Update Release tes 2

3 Enterprise Geocoding Module Q Data Release tes Added more than 54,000 TomTom address points Austria (AUT) Added more than 2,300,000 TomTom address points with German language support. Belgium (BEL) Added more than 5,000,000 GIM address points with Dutch, and German language support. Version Number Synchronization The version numbers for the API (geocoding engine) and datasets are now synchronized to the same version. This release is To view the version number for a dataset, in Management Console go to the Components tab under Services > Version. Java 1.7 Reminder: EGM geocoders use Java 1.7 or later. Updated (or new) data vintages are indicated with a + next to the Current Data Vintage. Countries that are included in the Africa (AF), Latin America (LA), or Middle East (ME) databases are indicated. The source(s) of the data is noted. (MMHUN-102) Hungarian street addresses that did not geocode to the street level are geocoding correctly now. Geocoding Coverage by This table identifies the geocoding coverage of the data by country. The coverage levels are defined as: Postal (Z): input address can match to the postcode. City (G3): input address can match to the city, town or municipality. Locality (G4): input address can match to locality (suburb, village, neighborhood). (S4): input address can match to street centroid. (S5): input address can match to an interpolated location along the street segment. (S8): input address can match to house number. The columns from left to right (Postal to ) indicate increased geocoding precision. The maximum precision for a country is indicated in the final column, Data Update Release tes 13

31 Enterprise Geocoding Module Q Data Release tes Supported Languages Zimbabwe ZWE Enterprise Geocoding Known Issues This release includes these known issues for Spectrum Technology Platform Enterprise Geocoding Module. (MMI-5731) Data path in Management Console does not display when you select the data folder for AU1. (MMI-5389, 5390) For users of Spectrum Technology Platform version 10.0 or 11.0 with the Enterprise Geocoding and Location Intelligence modules installed: There is a spatial library compatibility issue that affects the use of EGM international data. To workaround this issue, users of 10.0 must upgrade to 10.1 and apply all patches up to and including patch 10.1 S39. Users of 11.0 must upgrade to After upgrade to either version, you will also need to edit server/modules/igeocode-global/java.properties and add spectrum.classpath.excludetypes=true. Installation Overview Important: Contains new data installation and congfiguration instructions. Pitney Bowes is simplifying its data offerings for all geocoding products, beginning with this international data release for EGM Q New in this release is a data format called SPD that can simply be extracted into a data repository and configured in Management Console or with Spectrum's Administration Utility. SPD is a zip file of the same bundles we have provided in the past for EGM and GGM, with a new.spd file extension. The installer dbloader is no longer used to install the data. When the SPD is extracted to a folder, all the datasets are extracted. You cannot pick which datasets to install like you could using dbloader. The folder structure has been flattened such that each dataset is at the same level. The lib folder is no longer included in each geocoding component. There is now one lib folder for each bundle. Also provided in each bundle is metadata.json that contains the list of datasets in the bundle. If you do not want to install all the datasets in a bundle, you can edit the metadata.json and remove those entries. Data Update Release tes 31

32 Enterprise Geocoding Module Q Data Release tes There are slightly different instructions to installing SPD depending on your version of the Spectrum Technology Platform. Each version requires a product update to the software to support the installation of the SPD data format. See Installing Databases for Spectrum 12.0 and 11.1 on page 32 and Installing Databases for Spectrum 11.0, 10.1, and 10.0 on page 33. Installing Databases for Spectrum 12.0 and Download the Spectrum Technology Platform product update from the technical support web site or from the estore. Apply the product update for your Spectrum version: V CDQ 12.0 S12 V CDQ 11.1 S40 The update adds software to accept the new SPD data format. Refer to the release notes that accompany the product update for installation instructions. Be sure to stop the server before installing the patch and restart it when finished. 2. Download the database <filename>.spd. The database will be downloaded as an SPD file, essentially a zip file with an.spd extention. If you downloaded from g1.com/support, the.spd will be inside a.zip file. Extract it to a temporary location. 3. Copy the <filename>.spd into the Spectrum server's dataimport folder. For a default installation, the folder is located in C:\Program Files\Pitney Bowes\Spectrum\server\app\dataimport. The.spd will automatically be extracted to Spectrum's data repository at C:\Program Files\Pitney Bowes\Spectrum\server\app\repository\datastorage\geocoding-all\geocoding-all. te: The entire contents of the SPD will be extracted. You cannot pick which datasets are extracted. This is a change from the past when dbloader allowed you to choose. te: The SPD will be uninstalled from the default Spectrum location during an uninstallation of Spectrum. If you want to change the default data repository or to archive the.spd, Spectrum provides the spectrum-container.properties file under \server\app\conf that you can edit. See the properties spectrum.data.manager.storage.directory and spectrum.data.manager.archive.data. 4. Alternatively to step 3, extract the <filename>.spd to the location of your choice. For users of Spectrum's Administration Utility, use the EGM import command to import the datasets. For example, egmglobaldb import --f egmglobalsingledictdbresource.txt. Data Update Release tes 32

Copy the filepath to the data you want to configure in Management Console. 6. In Management Console, under Resources, choose Spectrum Databases. 7. Provide a name for the database and choose the appropriate module from the list. Click the Add button. to configure the database resource. 8. In the Add Dataset screen, provide a name and paste the path you copied in step 5 or navigate to the location in the data repository. Click OK to leave the screen. 9. Continue to add datasets, if appropriate, and save the database when you are done.
