3 The Capitole Record June/July 2018 Page!3 Thank You President s Corner Our May Seminar was a smashing success. Thanks John and Marie, Sandy and BJ for all you did to make this a success. Thanks also to all who attended. I hope you enjoyed the Seminar. Lydia was a great teacher. I really loved the projects. John, Marie, Frank and I attended the last Art Quest that Kitty Gorrell sponsored at the Greenbrier. Marie and I had great classes with Robert Warren and Mark Polomchak. We were there for 4 days. If you think walking at HOOT is something, you should see the Greenbrier. Sorry to say that Marie broke a bone in her foot right before the event. She was able to attend and got around in a scooter. And, John was a real sport getting her everything she needed. While we were in class, John and Frank went golfing. We had a great time together. Next, we have our Luncheon, and I have to get going on painting the table favors and centerpiece. The Luncheon is scheduled for July 21 st at the Holiday Inn, Holiday Drive, Sterling, VA. Remember to bring things for the raffle. September is the Art Show. Bring paintings that you have painted in the last 18 months to enter into the show. Until I see you at the Luncheon, Happy Painting. Lorraine Thank you to Marie, John and the entire seminar committee for hosting a great seminar with Lydia Steeves. She is a great teacher and the committee took great care of our every need. Thanks Ann Davis What a great weekend we had with Lydia Steeves. Great teacher. Thanks Lydia. I want to thank John and Marie for heading up the seminar and thanks to Sandy and BJ who offered to be on the committee and help. Thanks to everyone who came to set up and BIG thanks to everyone who stayed and help clean up. Thanks to our guests and thanks to all our members who participated to make this seminar a success. Lorraine Thanks for allowing SVDP members to attend the Seminar and for making us feel so welcomed! It was great fun and I love the way Lydia does fur. Peggy Thank you, Lydia--for coming and for a great seminar. I love my flop eared bun bun! I had so much fun painting with you and my NCC friends. Becky THANK YOU Thank you to all for the get well cards and s. It means a lot to know you are thinking of me in this stressful times. I am doing well right now. I am down to chemo every 3 weeks and have started radiation for the next 16 days. I have also started physical therapy for my arm and shoulder. Thanks again for your thoughts, prayers and cards. I look forward to seeing everyone at the Luncheon in July. (Hope by then to have my hair back.) Peg
