Jeff represents clients in the entertainment industry, including production companies, studios and individuals with their litigation needs, particularly concerning copyright infringement, invasion of privacy, sexual harassment and provides business counseling related to their intellectual property. Jeff has significant experience with copyright, trademark and unfair competition matters, as well as media, libel and trade secret law and partnership breakups or "business divorces." Additionally, Jeff represents online technology companies and emerging startups in litigation matters and counsels companies as they seek to protect their intellectual property. He also served as a Deputy Attorney General for the State of California. 8 elected to chair the board of Project ECHO, an organization that provides a unique experience for students to learn about entrepreneurship by teaching them how to develop, create and launch their business. Founded in 1996 and headquartered in Santa Monica, Project ECHO works with nearly 20 high schools every year across Santa Barbara, Los Angeles and Orange counties. Almost all of the schools involved in Project ECHO receive Title I funding and serve financially disadvantaged communities. Offered free of charge to high schools and their students wishing to participate, the program gives formal instruction in entrepreneurial studies paired with hands-on activities that teach students in-demand skills in Excel, PowerPoint, business writing, social media and marketing, and hosting presentations. The program provides students with the knowledge, ability, creativity and a team environment to turn business ideas and dreams into a reality. Jeff joined the board of Project ECHO in 2011, was named vice-chair in 2013, and in 2014 was elected chair for a twoyear term, succeeding the organization s founder Chip Goodman in that role.
