1 Turtle Lake Homeowners Association Annual Meeting Wednesday, May 18 at 7:00pm (Registration begins at 6:30) Shoreview Community Center The Board of Directors Election The Board has 12 seats. 8 seats represent the four directional sides of the lake (North, East, South, and West) Each side of the lake has 2 representatives when reasonably possible (per the bylaws) 4 seats are at-large seats. At-large seats are filled after the directional sides of the lake seats are filled and they can be filled from any side of the lake. Seat terms are 4 years unless filling the remainder of a vacated seat. 2 2016 TLHA Board Candidates Biographies Mark Cossack 5420 Lexington Ave N My wife Karen and I have lived on the western side of Turtle Lake for 18 years. Our kids grew up on the lake and this summer our first grandchild will experience his first swim! I have 30 years of leadership experience at Fortune 300 companies where I have held numerous VP level positions. I am currently President of a local transportation company with over 400 personnel. My computer science and MBA education and experience cause me to approach and make all decisions based on facts and probabilities, not on emotions, conjecture, or hearsay. If elected to the board, I promise to make reasonable and fact-based decisions which will benefit the homeowners of Turtle Lake and the public which utilizes the lake. Tim Krinke 813 Lakeview Drive I have lived in the East Metro most of my life and in Shoreview for 15 years. My wife, Cheryl, and I have enjoyed raising our children, Val (age 11) and Ed (age 9) on Turtle Lake. I have been serving on the TLHA Board for the past 5 years. I have served as Board Chair/President of the Association for the past 4 years. During this time I have worked on limiting the spread of invasive species, addressing the water level issues, and increasing communication with the homeowners. For invasive species we have kept up our control of milfoil, successfully treated and removed phragmites, and added boat inspections at the public access. As part of this I have worked to secure County and State funding for these efforts. We are one of only two lake associations that have applied for and received funding from Ramsey County for invasive species inspectors. In addressing the water level issue, I have listened to what our members have wanted to do. We have searched for as much information as possible in understanding the causes of the lake fluctuations and ways to address this issue. Since the homeowners have asked for an augmentation feasibility study I have assisted in securing State and City funding for a feasibility study. As part of that process I worked hard to convince City Staff and SEH that the feasibility study needed to include not only getting water to Turtle Lake, but also treating that source water as needed so there would be no degradation in water quality.

3 Outside of the TLHA I lead the Business Valuation Practice of the Minnesota office of Grant Thornton, a global accounting and consulting firm. I am a licensed attorney and a Certified Financial Analyst. I am currently part of the Leadership St. Paul program offered by the St. Paul Chamber of Commerce. Joe Morris 948 County Road I Joe Morris is a highly accomplished, innovative, and results oriented business executive/entrepreneur with over 30 years of broad based and progressive experience at companies like 3M, GMAC, Super Valu, and Toro. Joe became a full-fledged entrepreneur in 1997 developing an Internet operating system in joint with Nortel Networks and Southwestern Bell. He is a decisive and insightful team builder/leader and efficiently develops/motivates others to attain established objectives. Joe is an eclectic entrepreneur having owned businesses in the consumer packaging markets. Kids Product/Promotional Markets, Professional Music Business, and more. Joe is a member of Gopher Angels, and is a judge for the 2016 Minnesota Cup. In the small amount of spare time that Joe has in his schedule he thoroughly enjoys his Scotch, jet skiing and Pontooning at his home on Turtle Lake in Shoreview, and going to see his daughter Sarah Morris perform at local music venues. Kevin Ousdigian 5101 Alameda Street Family: Sara (wife), Mark (son), and daughters Kathryn and Linnea. Our family was excited to move on Turtle Lake and thoroughly enjoy the lake throughout the year. I would like to join the TLHA board so that I can continue to ensure this precious natural resource will remain healthy for decades to come. In 2013, I researched and identified the over one acre of invasive phragmites that had spread to parts of all four shores of Turtle Lake. I contacted the DNR and had them come out and positively confirm the invasive phragmites. I then worked with the DNR, the TLHA board, and found contractors to treat, remove the dead biomass, and nearly eliminate the invasive on Turtle. This invasive is known to have adverse effects on fish, birds, other wildlife, and native plants. The invasive phragmites spread along hundreds of acres along Lake Michigan which led to Wisconsin spending millions of dollars in an attempt to reduce its presence and bring back the natural habitat.

4 I have enjoyed volunteering to coach baseball, basketball, and soccer over the last 11 years in Shoreview. I was also the Director of the Shoreview Youth Area Baseball Little League. I'm a Distinguished Scientist at Medtronic and have enjoyed working there the last 23 years to help design implantable products that bring patients to full life. If elected to the board, I plan to utilize my scientific skills to ask good questions and work with the board to ensure we are making informed decisions. Carl Schroeder 5495 Carlson Rd---Northeast corner of the lake. My wife, Kristin and I have lived on Turtle Lake since We had a home in Roseville that was part of an association that shared 2 lake lots on the south side of Lake Owasso. We lived there 22 years and raised our 2 daughters. In 2010 we decided we wanted to live directly on a lake. After considering many lakes in the area, we chose Turtle because of its size, water quality, setting of the lake,and Shoreview is a great community. The lake was low at that time, but we felt this was the lake to be on. Kristin and I grew up in Maplewood/Roseville and attended Roseville schools. I worked 30 years for our family business (Schroeder milk Co.) and was the COO at the time we sold the business in My family has a long history in St. Paul and I have many family members that have stayed in the St. Paul area because this is a great place to raise a family. I have served on the TLHA Board since 2012 and was the secretary for 2 years. As a Board member I believe my role is to represent homeowners on the lake. I am fairly technical and I take the time to dig through the details, ask questions and make fact based decisions. The water is up and I am looking forward to summer and enjoying the lake. I hope to see you on the water! Marsha Soucheray 5355 Hodgson Rd. I have lived on Turtle Lake since 1975 and have seen many natural changes in the lake over the years. I am currently on the TLHA Board. I have served as a member of the Shoreview City Council, and the Shoreview Community Foundation. I am currently studying to become a Master Water Steward, a program sponsored by the Freshwater Society and the Rice Creek Watershed District. Turtle Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in the area, as a result it is used by both lakeshore owners and others in our community. I will continue to work to keep Turtle Lake a place all can enjoy.

5 Tom Stuart 5165 St. Albans St. N My name is Tom Stuart and Patty and I have been married for 35 years. Patty is a Registered Nurse and an Account Manager for Aetna and, I am self-employed. I have been in the restaurant business for 20 years, most recently transitioning to real estate property management. We have two children Dan (32) who is married and lives in San Diego with his wife Gabby and Matt (30), who is in graduate school and currently lives in Mankato. Patty and I were High School sweethearts and dated at Saint Anthony High School. We got married and moved to New Brighton and lived there for 32 years. When our children moved out, we were anxious to try lake living and moved to Turtle Lake in We have been on the lake for 2 years and absolutely love it!! We wake up every day and are grateful for the beautiful lake views, the wild life, amazing sunsets and our fabulous neighbors. I am excited to be a part of the Turtle Lake Association and help to represent the East Side of the lake.
