1 Michael Gerhardt LAWM Introduction to American Constitutional Law University of Chicago Law School, J.D London School of Economics, M.Sc Yale University, B.A Mr. Gerhardt is currently the Samuel Ashe Distinguished Professor of Constitutional Law & Director of Program in Law and Government at University of North Carolina Law School, the Scholar-in-Residence & Director of Content at the National Constitution Center, and the Special Independent Consultant, American Law Division of the Library of Congress. In 2009, Mr. Gerhardt served as Special Counsel, U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee, for the Nominations of Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan to the U.S. Supreme Court. Additionally, Mr. Gerhardt has taught at William & Mary Law School, Case Western Law School and Wake Forest Law School. His teaching fields have included: Bioethics, Congress & the President, Constitutional Law, Constitutional Theory, Federal Jurisdiction, First Amendment, Judicial Opinion Writing, Legal History, Legislative Drafting, Legislative Process, Media Law, Statutory Construction, Professional Responsibility, Telecommunications, and Torts. Mr. Gerhardt has numerous publications and lectures on a wide variety of constitutional issues. John Grogan LAWM Introduction to U.S. Law and Legal Methods University of Pennsylvania Law School, J.D 1993 Fordham University, B.A Mr. Grogan is a partner in Langer, Grogan & Diver P.C., where he focuses his practice on antitrust, consumer rights and constitutional matters. He has represented clients in matters involving the intersection of antitrust law and intellectual property especially in the pharmaceutical context. His firm has acted as antitrust counsel for a large generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in a series of high profile antitrust matters. In the area of consumer rights, Mr. Grogan has represented class claimants in matters involving telemarketing fraud and pay-day lending. He is also co-counsel with the ACLU of Pennsylvania in a cases involving police conduct, immigration and constitutional matters. He clerked for the New Jersey Supreme Court. Charles Howland LAWM Navigating the Regulatory State Villanova University School of Law, J.D Cornell University, B.A Mr. Howland is a Senior Assistant Regional Counsel with the EPA Region III. During his 30 year career he has worked over 25 years at the EPA, in private practice, in house at a renewable energy developer, in academia, in local government, and at a nonprofit. Mr. Howland has worked to find innovative ways to address complex environmental and energy problems, using classic enforcement tools as well as collaborative multi-stakeholder techniques to reach environmentally, socially, and economically sustainable solutions. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Philadelphia Federal Executive Board's gold medal for exceptional service in Outside of EPA, Mr. Howland helped develop and co-teaches a course in energy law at Villanova Law School. He has also taught environmental law and sustainability in graduate programs at the University of Pennsylvania s Wharton School and its Institute for Environmental Studies, and Drexel University. He has lectured on environmental and energy law and ethics issues at national and international forums, including numerous colleges and universities, EPA s National Superfund Training Academy, the U.S. Department of Justice, professional and industry associations, and in Eastern Europe through the Harvard Institute for International Development. Mr. Kandel joined Cerberus in Prior to joining Cerberus, Mr. Kandel was First Vice President and Assistant General Counsel at Merrill Lynch from 1998 to 2007, where he was in charge of state regulation, legislation and government relations and also handled various SEC, NYSE, NASD and compliance-related matters. From 1995 to 1998, Mr. Kandel was the Chief of the Investor Protection & Securities Bureau at the New York State Attorney General s Office, where he also served as Assistant Deputy Attorney General. From 1993 to 1995, he was Senior Special Counsel, then Trial Counsel, at the Enforcement Division of the New York Stock Exchange. From 1986 to 1993, he was an Assistant District Attorney in Manhattan. Mr. Kandel is a member of the Cerberus Capital Management Compliance and Risk Management Committee, Securities Compliance Committee, Valuation Committee, Allocation Committee, Financial Risk Management Sub-Committee, Environmental, Social and Governance Committee, and Brokerage Selection Committee. Emily Largent LAWM Introduction to Health Law & Policy (tentative Spring 2018) Harvard Law School, J.D Harvard University, Ph.D University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, B.S Georgetown University Walsh School of Foreign Service, B.S Emily Largent is an Assistant Professor of Medical Ethics and Health Policy at the Perelman School of Medicine. Her research focuses on ethical and regulatory issues in clinical research and the integration of clinical research with clinical care. Emily received her PhD in Health Policy from Harvard and her JD from Harvard Law School. Prior to that, she received her BS in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing and completed a fellowship in the Department of Bioethics at the National Institutes of Health. Daniel A. Pepper LAWM Introduction to Technology Law and Ethics Duquesne University School of Law, J.D Rutgers University, B.A Mr. Pepper is the Vice President and Deputy General Counsel at Comcast. Mr. Pepper has over 20 years of comprehensive experience representing Fortune 500 companies in information technology, data privacy and cybersecurity law. Mr. Pepper has significant experience in identifying, evaluating and managing risks associated with privacy and information security practices. Prior to joining Comcast, Mr. Pepper was the Assistant General Counsel at Verizon and the founder of the Pepper Law Group, LLC, as well as the Regional counsel to BEA Systems, Inc. Page 2

Mr. Petersen joined Verizon in 2000 and over the last 16 years had had significant responsibilities for public policy, legislative, regulatory, transactional, corporate governance and other legal issues for Verizon. Prior to joining Verizon, Mr. Petersen was a litigator in private practice handling commercial, professional malpractice and white-collar criminal matters. He also served as an Assistant United States Attorney, in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and he clerked at the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. Mr. Petersen has served on the Boards of Directors of the Independence Visitor Center, WHYY, and the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts. In addition, Mr. Petersen has previously taught at Temple University School of Law. Lee Rosengard LAWM Introduction to U.S. Law and Legal Methods University of Pennsylvania Law School, J.D Dartmouth College, A.B Mr. Rosengard is a partner in the Philadelphia office of Stradley Ronon, where he has been a commercial litigator for 35 years. He serves as the firm s general counsel, is chair of the ADR Practice Group and is former chair of the Litigation Practice Group. He is a member of the CPR Institute Panel of Distinguished Neutrals, the American Arbitration Association Commercial Panel and Large Complex Case Panel, and also serves as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas Commerce Program. He is an active member of the Philadelphia Bar Association s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee, which he chaired in He also is a Lecturer in Law of the Faculty of Villanova University School of Law and a frequent guest lecturer on ADR at area law schools. Gurinder S. Sangha LAWM Introduction to General Business Law University of Pennsylvania Law School, J.D University of Toronto, B.A Mr. Sangha is a serial entrepreneur, attorney and academic who is at the forefront of incorporating modern technology into the legal and financial services sectors. Mr. Sangha is the founder and CEO of Lit IQ, as well as the founder and former CEO of Intelligize, which helps business professionals research regulatory filings. He is also a Fellow at CodeX, The Stanford Center for Legal Informatics. Prior to founding Intelligize, Mr. Sangha practiced securities law at the Hong Kong office of White & Case LLP. He also worked as a capital markets attorney for Shearman & Sterling LLP in New York City. He has also consulted for Wolters Kluwer Law & Business, and he writes and speaks frequently on entrepreneurship, product development, legal innovation and enterprise sales. Page 3

4 Asha Scielzo LAWM Introduction to Health Law & Policy Georgetown University, J.D University of Pennsylvania, B.A Asha Scielzo is the Health Law and Policy Fellow for American University Washington College of Law's Health Law and Policy Program. A leader in the health law academic community, Professor Scielzo has assisted several law schools with the development of health law curricula for their JD, LLM, and Masters of Law programs. She teaches a wide range of courses on the subject of health care fraud and abuse, compliance, governance, and mergers & acquisitions. During her 15 years of private practice she concentrated on health care regulatory counseling, with significant expertise in fraud and abuse and reimbursement considerations and their impact on day-to-day operations, corporate compliance and governance, and transactions. Professor Scielzo serves on the Board of Directors of the American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA), and has also served for many years as the Chair of the Planning Committee for the annual AHLA Fundamentals of Health Law Conference. She is a frequent speaker and author in the field of health law, and serves as a mentor to law students and young lawyers. His practice focuses on representation of financial institutions in commercial, class action and individual litigation. In addition to representing financial institutions in connection with commercial loan lender liability claims, he has significant experience in litigation involving consumer protection statutes, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and state unfair trade practices laws. He also has represented both employers and insurers in ERISA litigation involving executive compensation and claims against ERISA benefits plans. Matthew L. Mr. Wiener is the Vice Chairman and Executive Director of the Administrative Conference of the United States. Before affiliating with the Conference, he was general counsel to U.S. Senator Arlen Specter, counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on the Judiciary, a partner at Dechert LLP, and special counsel to Cuneo Gilbert & LaDuca. Mr. Wiener is an elected member of the American Law Institute, a fellow of the American Bar Foundation, and the co-chair of the Adjudication Committee of the American Bar Association s Section of Administrative Law and Regulatory Practice. He has worked in private practice in the areas of medical malpractice and family law, has done pro bono work with the AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania and the American Civil Liberties Union, and served as legal intern with the Honorable Bruce Fox, United States Bankruptcy Court, Philadelphia, and with the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania. At Biddle Law Library, in addition to his reference and liaison librarian duties, he coordinates the library's web homepage and is actively engaged in various digital library projects. R. Polk Wagner LAWM Introduction to Patent Law Online Stanford Law School, J.D London School of Economics Roger M. Jones Fellow College of Charleston, B.S University of Michigan, B.S.E 1993 Professor of Law and Associate Dean at Penn Law, Polk Wagner focuses his research and teaching in intellectual property law and policy, with a special interest in patent law. He has written over 20 articles on topics ranging from an empirical analysis of judicial decision-making in the patent law to the First Amendment status of software programs. His work has appeared in the Stanford Law Review, Columbia Law Review, and the University of Pennsylvania Law Review, among several others. He is the author (with Professor Craig Nard) of Patent Law: Concepts and Insights (Foundation Press 2008). He is a frequent lecturer on intellectual property topics worldwide. Prior to joining the Penn Law faculty in 2000, Wagner served as a clerk to Judge Raymond C. Clevenger III of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Page 5
