Having been part of the business community for over 25 years has meant that all things have become very familiar but never dull for me. Passionate about people, especially the role of women in business and mentoring up and coming accountants, provides me with the impetus for wanting to represent the profession that has supported me in many ways. I would like to make continuous improvement for the benefit of its members. My current role as Chief Financial Officer at Loyalty NZ, the Fly Buys company, gives me great insight into people behaviours and what drives them in a business sense such as emotional connection, familiarity and quality of product and service. This is no different for a professional body, and I hope I will have the opportunity to share this knowledge as a Councillor.

He has been a World Bank, Forum Fisheries Agency. MFAT and FAO consultant. He is a current member and former Chair of E learning Porirua and Former Vice President of the OECD Fisheries Committee. He has held a Certificate of Public Practice from NZICA/CAANZ since Using his and Management experience his key goal is to improve communication between the organisation, its members and stake holders at this critical time of change to ensure that CAANZ remains the pre-eminent Professional organisation for Accountants.

Proud to be working for Opus International Consultants, one of the few global companies still headquartered out of. As the Commercial Manager, my predominant focus is on reviewing tenders and supporting sound decision-making. I have a unique skillset as both a Chartered Accountant and a Lawyer. I graduated from the University of Otago and began my career with KPMG in the Tax Team. On my extended overseas experience in London I worked for a large global construction company where I transitioned out of tax into business-focused roles related to commercial management, account management and strategic development. During my time in London I was a representative on the CA ANZ CPD Committee where we developed and ran the programme for our London based members. I intend to bring a fresh perspective to the Regional Council with my focus being on improving engagement and delivering value for our members.

I am a finance professional with over 20 years' experience in finance, banking and insurance. I consider I have the necessary experience and skills to represent the interests of members, support decision making and positively contribute to the direction and focus of the institute. As your advocate, I will explain key messages to you from the CA ANZ Board and ensure your opinion is duly reported back. My key communication skills are listening and advising, promoting issues to the right level for resolution. I have chaired and hosted Small Practitioner meetings since 2005 (includes discussions on all aspects of CA business), which helps the Institute be relevant for smaller practitioners and maintains the standard of what it means to be a CA. To be The Trusted Advisor, we must develop and maintain relationships to navigate the regulatory/compliance environment with IRD and Government Agencies. Having been a Public Practitioner since 1997 and member of NZICA (now CAANZ) since 1980, I aim to be a strong connection to ensure the Chartered Accountant brand is held in the highest regard.

In 8 years on the Wairarapa LLT, the last 2 years as Chair, I have seen a great deal of governance and organisational change within the profession. This experience has fuelled my desire to contribute to the profession nationally moving forward. Living and working in the Wairarapa has given me insight into the issues specific to members operating outside of the main urban centres. I feel that strong representation at national level of these concerns is vital to regional members feeling connected to our governance processes and engaged with the profession. Having spent my entire professional career working in commercial roles, I also feel well placed to represent and comment on issues faced by members in this sector throughout all career stages. Our ability to maintain the pre-eminence of CAANZ designations with commercial sector employers and potential candidates is vital for the health of the profession moving forward.
