3 Georgia Small Business Facts Georgia Small Businesses In 2008, Small Businesses accounted for 45.7% of all private-sector jobs. Small businesses totaled 907,068 in the state in Of these, 175,574 were employers. 5 Manufacturing Businesses Manufacturing in Georgia contributes to almost 11% of Georgia s gross domestic product (GDP). In 2009, Georgia exported more than $23.8 billion in manufactured goods to the rest of the world. About one out of ten working Georgians is employed in the manufacturing sector.
