Featuring over 250 attendees from 160 companies, the Policy Forum brought together industry leaders and elected officials to discuss energy and tax policy, debate pressing issues in the changing electricity marketplace, and identify priorities for Congress, the states, and relevant agencies. The conference featured a broad range of speakers who provided expert insights on renewable energy finance in the new tax law, the impacts of solar and steel tariffs on U.S. competitiveness, efforts to improve the reliability and resilience of the grid, and the new renewables alliance of cities, states and businesses. 6 MEDIA COVERAGE It s All Going On at ACORE March 14, 2018 The American Council on Renewable Energy has a packed agenda today for its forum, which will focus on taxes, tariffs and resilience. The who s-who list of attendees includes undersecretary of Energy Mark Menezes, FERC Commissioner Rob Powelson, and PJM CEO Andy Ott, all of whom may be able to provide clues as to what s in store for the grid. Today s forum will also feature keynotes from Sen. Ron Wyden, the top Democrat on the Senate Finance Committee; Energy Committee Chairman Lisa Murkowski; and the committee s top Democrat, Maria Cantwell. Climate hawk Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse also will be there, fresh of his 200th climate speech on the Senate floor. Renewables play a key role, said Mark Menezes, the under secretary of energy, in an appearance at the American Council on Renewable Energy s annual policy forum in Washington.
