4 Country s first methanol-based cooking fuel rolled out by APL in Assam NITI Aayog member and former director general of the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Vijay Kumar Saraswat inaugurated the Green and Clean Fuel Pilot Project on Methanol cooking Stove. This launched the country s first methanol based cooking oil by Namrup-based Assam Petrochemicals Limited (APL).It is the first of its kind in realizing the concept of NITI Aayog s programme of Methanol Economy. Initially the product will be available only in the Northeastern Region.
