We are going to be the biggest and the best podcast for English learners out there and my goal is to bring you to a very fun way of learning English and our goal is to master English, yeah? I hope so. Okay, enough cheat chat, let s getting into the news: If you re gonna stay at a super expensive hotel, you re gonna wanna stay in style, right? Here are a few hotel amenities that you might not have thought of, but hey, why not? A gold-plated ipad at the Berj in Dubai perfect for reserving a table, and even better for playing Candy Crash. Ferrari s for 4 Seasons faves, regular room rates get you exercise to luxury cars. Did I say a regular room? Sorry, top level luxury suites, regular for the rich. One more, catching some rays at the Ratz in Miami, better get the tinning butler who keep you oiled up, tell you when to flip and make sure your iced tea remains icy enough. What? What I was talking about? I m talking hotels and special things. Let s listen one more time: (reads the text again) Oh my goodness, so I don t know, maybe some of you guys are really really really rich and you have this experience. Well, I tell you I am not really really really rich, I m not really really really poor, but I m much much much closer to poor than rich. Haha so staying at a luxury hotel that s just the dream for me, but these hotels are amazing. So let s go again line by line: If you re gonna stay at a super expensive hotel, so the word gonna, G-O-N-N-A that is the American daily English spelling for going to. If you re going to stay, and if we say that fast, if you gonna stay, if you gonna stay, if you gonna stay at a super expensive hotel, okay, so stay at hotel, stay at a super expensive hotel, so not just regular expensive, but super expensive, not 200 dollars a night, 500 dollars a night, 1000 dollars a night, 5000 dollars a night and more. If you gonna stay at a super expensive hotel, you re gonna wanna stay in style, right? You re gonna (going to) wanna (W-A-N-N-A, want to), you re gonna wanna stay in style, a great expression to stay in style, to do something in style. What this means is in luxury? Very very nice expensive surroundings, so to stay in style means to stay in a luxury hotel to enjoy luxury food and everything luxury, luxury, luxury... Hum, so let s look at that sentence again: If you re gonna stay at a super expensive hotel, you re gonna wanna stay in a style, right? the question was right? Is that true? And the answer is yes. If you re going to spend lots of money at a hotel, you would expect everything to be really nice, right? Yeah, okay. Here are a few hotel amenities that you might not have thought of, but hey, why not? Okay, so here are a few, so I m going to give you a few several, a few means 2, 3, 4, 5, just a couple, here are a few hotel amenities (A-M-E-N-I-T-I-E-S), it s plural, amenities. Hotel amenities are hotel bonuses. You know, nice extra things that the hotel might give you. So if you go to a hotel, you pay for a room, of course the room includes a bed, blankets, a pillow. The room probably includes a television, but maybe not much else, but some hotels give you some amenities like shampoo, soap; some hotels give you amenities like fruit, champagne; and luxury hotels give you amazing amenities. So here are a few hotel amenities that you might not have thought of, hum, so what kind of amenities can you think of? I can think of, you know, fruit; you know, champagne, a newspaper,

maybe free breakfast, maybe be a computer, internet connection, wifi - those are amenities I can think of, but here are a few you might not have thought of, you would never guess. But hey, why not? what this means, but hey, why not? These are amenities you ve never thought of, but there are great, so why not accept them. This the idea, okay? So now I ll tell you about 3 hotels and their 3 amazing amenities: Hotel number one: A gold-plated ipad at the Berj in Dubai, okay, so Dubai is a city in the United Arab Emirates in the Middle East and the Berj, is actually the Berj Khalifa, I think that how you pronounce it, which is the world tallest building and in this building, they have a 7-star hotel, not a 5-star, a 7-star hotel the Berj Khalifa. And if you go to this hotel and stay in their nice luxury suite, they ll give you an ipad, that s cool, but not just a regular ipad, a gold-plated ipad. Now you can t keep this ipad, but why do they give you this ipad gold-plated ipad? Well, because they have an app the hotel application. The app, you know, ipad app. And this app makes perfect for reserving a table and even better for playing Candy Crash. Haha so if you re the guest at the Berj in, the Berj Hotel in Dubai, they are l going to let you use a gold, a real gold-plated ipad. And with this ipad, if you want, you can reserve a table at one of the restaurants or you can just play the very popular game called Candy Crash. I ve never played Candy Crash, hum, but I do know that itunes has a couple of very famous games: Candy Crash and Angry Birds. So if you had a gold ipad, would you be playing Candy Crash? Insane, a goldplated ipad, oh my goodness, but why not? Thank you very much. But if you lose it? Ah? Hotel number 2: Ferrari s for 4 Seasons faves, okay, so the hotel name is 4 Seasons very famous luxury hotel, they are all over the world. And this 4 Seasons is in Los Angeles and this 4 Seasons lets you drive a Ferrari. Actually they have many super expensive luxury cars that you can drive for free. Haha yes, you do need to buy gas, maybe; you do need to buy an insurance, but you don t have rent a car - a regular car. You can just go to the hotel and use their Ferrari, oh my goodness. So Ferrari s for 4 Seasons faves (F-A-V-E-S), favorites. That means favourite customers and who are the 4 Seasons favourite customers? Of course, the guests who spend thousands of dollars a night to stay at the hotel. Ferrari s for 4 Seasons faves, regular room rates get you exercise to luxury cars. Regular room rates which means you don t have to pay an extra fee, just the regular, listed fee for the room, get you exercise too allows you use, get you exercise too allows you to use luxury cars. Wow, so Ferrari s, maybe a Porches, Land Rover, I wonder if they let you drive a Bugatti, umm I continue. Did I say a regular room? Sorry, top level luxury suites, regular for the rich. Did I say a regular room? I m sorry, did I actually say a regular room, like the cheap rooms for three hundred dollars, four hundred dollars, no,no,no I m sorry, top level luxury suites, suites (S-U-I-T-E-S), a suite is a really nice hotel room and actually most suites are more than one room, they sometimes have a kitchen, they ll have a living room, they ll have like 2, maybe 3 bedrooms. Oh some suites are really nice, it s better than a house. So top level, not the cheap suites, the most expensive luxury suites which, of course, these rooms are regular for the rich. So I guess if Bill Gates goes to the 4 Seasons, Could I have a room? Automatically they are going to give him a top level luxury suite. But if I go to the 4 Seasons, Could I have a room? They will say, The cheapest rooms we have are 400 dollars, is that okay? and of course, I would say, oh, that s too expensive, I ll find some places else. Haha I ll be sleeping outside. So it s an amazing story. Ferrari s for 4 Seasons faves rent for a regular room rates get you exercise to luxury cars. Did I say a regular room? Sorry, top level luxury suites, regular for the rich. One more: would you like to hear about one more hotel with amazing amenities? Catching some rays at the Ratz in Miami, catching some rays (C-A-T-C-H, catch, I-N-G, R-A- Y-S), what does that mean? Catching some rays it means are you sun tinning? Are you sun baking? Are you laying out on the beach trying to get a sun tinning? Catching some rays. Where? At the Ratz, oh, the Ratz (R-A-T-Z), that s a very famous hotel around the world, very very expensive, but which one? In Miami. Aha, Miami, Florida. So if you re at the Ratz hotel in Miami, Florida and you re catching some rays, what should you do? Catching some rays at the Ratz in Miami, better to get the tinning butler, better get the tinning butler. Dramatically you had better, which means you should do something, you had better to get, this case get would mean hire the tinning butler (T-I-N-N-I-N-G) sun tinning, butler (B-U-T-L-E-R), what is a butler? A butler is a male servitor, a man servitor. The opposite of butler would be a maid (M-A-I-D), a female servitor. Well,

the Ratz hotel in Miami has a tinning butler and what s his job? What will he do? How will he serve you? Better to get the tinning butler who keep you oiled up, who will keep you oiled up, so he will constantly rub oil on your skin - sun tinning oil, who will tell you when to flap, he will tell you to roll over, so you lay on your stomach for 15 minutes, and then after 15 minutes, he ll say, Sir, Madam, you should roll over on your back now. So he ll tell you when to flip, when to roll over. And his other job is to make sure that your iced tea remains icy enough. So if you re sun tinning on the beach, and you have a nice cold iced tea. Well, with the sun shinning, the ice is going to melt, but don t worry, if you have a tinning butler, he ll always be prepared with extra ice, making sure your iced tea remains or stays icy enough. Wow, so these are a few hotel amenities that I m sure you could not have imagined, you will not have thought of. What do you think? Which hotel is more interesting to you? The gold-plated ipad Berj, the Ferrari at the 4 Seasons or the tinning butler at the Ratz? For me, of course, the Ferrari at the 4 Seasons, I ll take that. The only problem is I ll never go to Los Angeles. I don t really like going to Los Angeles. Oh, well, haha Alright, so leave your comments which of these hotels is the most interesting to you. And if you are planning to stay at one of these hotels, please let me know, so that we can be friends and you can give me lots of money. Haha just joking. Okay, I m gonna read this story two more times. But first, let s check out some of those key vocabulary words or phrases: Stay in style, oh yes, to stay in a style, to stay in a very nice hotel; to dress in style, dress very nicely, very nice suit, very nice clothe; to eat in style, to eat at a very luxury restaurant; Amenities, amenities are those very nice bonuses, free things that a hotel or some other type of business to give you an amenity. So a typical amenity at a hotel would be shampoo, shampoo is an amenity, amenities; Gold-plated, gold (G-O-L-D), plated (P-L-A-T-E-D), if something is gold-plated, it means the outside is covered in gold, so the inside is not actually gold, but the outside is covered in gold; The Berj, the Berj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world, it s in the city of Dubai and in the country of the United Arab Emirates; Candy Crash, it s just a game for your iphone or your ipad; 4 Seasons, another luxury hotel chain around the world, very very beautiful and very very expensive; Faves (F-A-V-E-S) - favorites, it s the shortened version of favourite. What s your faves? What s your faves musician? My faves musician would be, I don t know - The Beatles, Prince, hum, Eminem; Get you exercise to, allow you to use or allow you to utilize; Catching some rays (R-A-Y-S), sun rays; Sun tinning, laying out in the Sun, Sun breathing, sunning yourself; The Ratz, the Ratz hotel, very famous, very luxuries, very expensive; A butler (B-U-T-L-E-R), a person, a male, a man who serves you, a male servitor; Oiled up, full of the oil and in this case, we are talking about Sun tin oil, so enough oil all over your back and legs, Flip (F-L-I-P), to turn over, so you re sun tinning, you need to flip yourself; if you re cooking hamburgers, you need to flip the burgers. Those are the words, let s listen two more times: the first time, solely; second time, normal speed. Here we go. (reads the text again) It s Question and Answer time. D has a question, hey, Coach, I m trying to get your podcast on itunes, but it does not show up anywhere, help me! That s easy one. Go to the itunes store and search for Let s Master English, it s a podcast- Let s space Master space English, and then you should have no problem to find it.

Mr G is that pronounced okay? And I get a question, Is there a pronunciation s difference between L-A-U-G-H and L-O-V-E? Hum, I always thought LOVE had the real o sound and LAUGH, the same sound as T-O-U-G-H, but longer. But I saw a lot of guys say LOVE with the same sound LAUGHT recently. Well, no. Actually the words you give me all have the different vowel sounds. Now what s important to remember in some parts of America, and maybe in Australia and also the UK too, these words might sound similar, but the typical pronunciation in America is love and that is a short u sound - love ; laugh that is a short e sound; and tough now actually, tough also has the short u sound, so love and tough have the same vowels, love and laugh have the different vowel sounds and also the v and f are different too. Now I do have several videos on my coachshanesesl YouTube channel that talk about the vowel sounds, but it s really tough, I know for many students to master these vowel sounds, the best way to learn the vowel sounds is with a native English speaker. So depending on the country, depending on where that person is from, you will hear the different types of pronunciation. However, I am sure that my pronunciation is the standard American pronunciation, so trying to repeat love, laugh, I love YouTube, YouTube makes me laugh, love, laugh. Okay? I hope that answer your question. Our next question, A I hope that pronounced alright. Your podcasts are really help me a lot, I have improved in my listening comprehension since I started. That s really great! At the same time I m getting the American spoken accent a little bit, I have many questions: what do you think about translating the English in your mind and how do I fix my English pronunciation? Okay, so lots of students, when they listen to English, they translate it into their language. Many students before they speak English, they think in their language and then they translate in their head, and then speak English. Well, A it s natural. So what you re doing is whatever student does. I mean that natural thing and I have no problems with that. However, my recommendation is to do lots of review, okay? Because the more you review something, for example - Greetings, Hey, A how are you doing? translate, translate, I m fine, thank you, and you?, Great! Thanks for asking. Translate, translate. Okay? A but if we practise these everyday, are you need going to translate every time? No. you re not going to translate, and also this going to build your confidence and it s going to help you learn faster. Because once your confidence is up, your learning ability will increase and becomes more fun and becomes more interesting, do you understand? So what s really important is to practise a lot, to review a lot. Many students are, you know, they are really ambitious, they are almost greedy, they want to study new things everyday, everyday, something new, more, more which is great! However, that doesn t really help your confidence level, now depending on what level you are? Some students who do not have the translate, they need a lot of new information, but for students who re still doing a lot of translating, you guys need to review. Okay? I hope that helps. We have another question from D from Vietnam, I hope you add some sub-titles to your podcasts and videos. No. Haha No. I m not going to, and I know many other teachers do, Duncan in China, he adds sub-titles to all of his videos which it s great. No, I m not going to do that and the reason is, is because my focus in teaching is listening skills, not reading skills. Listening skills, so I m sorry, no sub-titles. However, there are many blogs and our channels for the podcasts where students do dictate my videos. I ll introduce these blogs to you real quickly and once again, if you go to our home page - or our Community on Google Plus Lets Master English, you can find the script, entire transcript for the podcasts. So check that out and don t give up. But no, sorry, I m not add sub-titles. Alright, so that s it for the questions today. It s time to move on. How are you doing everybody? This is Country Shane and I'm here to bring you the facts. Only female mosquito will bite you, I ve always said woman can be scary. This is been Country Shane bringing you the facts. Let s Master English s studying tips, now once again I m all about blogging. You guys there so important, there is automatically studying tip - The best way to learn is to teach. And right now

we have 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 different blogs that focus on my lessons. This so great, I m so proud of everybody. So to our new blogs, we have Muhammad and Muhammad has a blog in Urdu, so this is in Pakistan. So if you speak Urdu, then I want you to check Muhammad s blog. Now Muhammad blog s name is, he needs to change his name, Muhammad, but right now is cochshane.blogspot.kr or whatever country you re in. So I ll put a link in the description s video. So you guys don t worry about the address. But I do want Muhammad, I want you to change the name for the blog. I m not Coch Shane, I m Coach Shane. So many people make a mistake with that. That s okay. But we have a blog in Urdu that s by Muhammad. He is doing great! Azin has started a blog in Persian and of course this for the students in Iran and his englishcoachshane.blogspot.uk. So you, once again, the links will be down below. We have Mario s blog in Portuguese, (Portuguese). In Spanish, we have Miguel (Spanish). And Vietnamese, we have Quy with English study and share. Now these guys and ladies are doing a fantastic job, but it s really difficult if they re alone, so I want you guys to go visit these blogs, it s your language, visit the blog and ask them if you can help. So for the Spanish blog by Miguel, he already has 4 people helping him, V Zulma, Holly and Rebacca, so he s lucky, he s got a lot of help. And now, there are other blogs, V has a blog; Holly has another blog; S has a blog and I think I has a blog. So I want you guys, please especially to V, Holly, S and I.. me, give me your blog address again, and I ll link for everybody. Join a blog, teaching what you learn is the best way to really learn. You got it? That s important. I do want to give you a pronunciation tip today too. So a pronunciation got from Coach Shane - the ing, the ing sound in a verb or.so for example, running I like running. Now the ing sound in American English actually has 3 pronunciations: the first pronunciation is ing which is perfect, but we say a little bit faster, it sounds like in running, runnin and if we say really fast, it sounds like n runn n, running, runnin, runn n. I like running. Which do you think is the most common pronunciation? ing, in or n? That s right - n is the most common. How about this sentence, I like cooking; I like cooking, I like cookin, I like cook n. The last one is going to be the most common sound. So I want you to listen, especially go to my dailydictation channel and look at the ing words and listen to how they are pronounced. News announcers usually have a very nice and clear pronunciation, the same with documentaries. However, CD-COMs, television shows and movies usually have the n pronunciation. So I want you guys to listen to many different types of English videos that I have a Daily Dictation and listen to the different pronunciations of ing. And remember if you can say it, you can hear it. And once again, in this podcast, we do not have That s Was History, but Cliff will be join us soon, don t worry, Cliff will be back with more history tips for you guys. And that s I can do for me today. I hope you have enjoyed episode 10, podcast 10 of Let s Master English, please subscribe on the itunes store and give me a good rating. You can also get all of our podcasts on our homepage Take care everyone and Let's Master English!!!
