8 The General Register Office Civil register of all birth, deaths and marriages from 1864 (non-catholic marriages from 1845). Project commenced in 1995 Relocated to Co. Roscommon Used OCR to capture printed indexes In 2001 abandoned OCR in favour of rekeying All births now digitised and validated. Marriages back to 1920, Deaths back to Everything else 90% done.

9 QA? Current delay: decentralisation ETA: maybe 2013/14/15? Delivery: a decision has yet to be taken about which, if any, of these records will be available online. Recent Report of Ombudsman. BUT: there s familysearch.org!
