1 Te Whiringa Muka Profiles Brendon Te Tiwha Puketapu I am standing for the Pakaitore Trust with an understanding of: the history that Moutoa Gardens represents, the whakapapa connections it embodies for us, from the mountain to the sea, and the changing relationships between iwi and the wider communities of the Whanganui region. I was involved with the negotiations for the establishment of the Pakaitore Trust, as a representative for Tamaupoko. Consequently, I share some continuity with those who were more visibly involved at that time. I bring a range of skills and experiences in senior management and governance roles. My Executive for its joint venture company with participating tertiary institutions in Te Waipounamu. Since returning to the Ika a Maui, I I am currently a Trustee for the - Ranana Marae Reservation Trust, and the Chair - I am interested to see settlement assets being governed and managed well for the future. This includes strengthening the iwi estate (asset base), fulfilling stewardship responsibilities, supporting iwi organisation and supporting our mana whenua presence in the Whanganui region. Geoffrey Te Rangihiroa Mariu I am of Ngati Haua, Ngati Hauaroa and Ngati Hekeawai descent. My involvement in iwi Kaupapa is extensive with a perspective of raising the quality of life for our people by strengthening the cultural, economic, political and social levels of whanau. My experience in trusteeship goes back some twenty years beginning with the Marae collective in Taumarunui. Since then I have been a member of the Whanganui Regional Employment Board, chairing the national body Te Korowai Aroha o Aotearoa, the Whanganui Community Foundation, Te Rapu Ora (rongoa clinic) the PHO Diabetes forum and the Podiatrist Board of New Zealand. I spent some 15 years in community development mahi through a board band of the center of the North Island. One of my passions was to assist groups develop their strategic plans.

2 Current positions of responsibility that I hold include: Chair of Pakaitore Trust, member of Hinengakau Development Trust, Hinengakau representative on Te Puna Matauranga, chair of the Upokongaro School Board of Trustees and employed as Manager of Awa FM. I was part of the working party that developed a framework for future iwi administration, management, development and investment under the name of Nga Tangata Tiaki. This was presented back to hui-a-iwi on a runanga level and is awaiting implementation. I am totally committed to our iwi moving forward and creating a better future for generations to come. I believe that education is the key to unlocking our potential and support the principles contained e work done in our kura and also with initiatives such as the Nga Muka Wananga. Jenny Tamakehu Ngati Taanewai, Nga Poutama, Ngati Ruaka, Ngati Hau Hapu representative: Ngati Taanewai/Nga Poutama previous rep for Hineoneone Matahiwi Marae: I am the current Chair of Matahiwi Marae Committee. I have actively participated in the Marae for 10 years plus, duties included Secretary, project co-ordinator, hapu representative. I am a active member in the Tamaupoko Runanga and Tamaupoko Link (WDC) My relationship to Matahiwi is from my mother Flossie Ranginui daughter to Heeni Matene and Pokairangi Ranginui. Board Member on: Whiringa Muka Trust and Pipiriki Incorporation Whanau: My father is Waati Tamakehu of Ngati Hau, Ngati Kurawhatia and Nga Rauru descent.

3 Mariana Te Hei Waitai I am currently a trustee of Paikaitore Trust, Te Poho o Matapihi Trust Putiki; as well as a Putiki Marae/Hapu representative on Te Runanga O Te Awa Tupua O Whanganui, Te Runanga O Tupoho, Te Reo Irirangi o Whanganui Awa FM. I am also an Iwi representative on Pakaitore/Moutoa Gardens Historic Reserves Board, Pakaitore committee responsible for organizing our annual February 28th Whanganuitanga celebrations at Pakaitore and the Tupoho/Whanganui district council working party. I maintain and Iwi/hapu viewpoint on various Whanganui District Council committees addressing the wellbeing of our tupuna awa and our awa people. I have been involved in strategic governance and trusteeship positions for many years, through my whakapapa connections and commitment to my marae, hapu and iwi organisaitonal structures of Whanganui Rarangi Matua. My hapu/iwi connectivity is recognized and acknowledged by our awa whanaunga as demonstrated by the consistent active support received for various roles held on behalf of our people. I have held longtime positions of financial responsibility within Whanganui Te Ringa Whatoro social services sectores. Ongoing trust and support has been maintained through establishing transparaent accountatiblity processes and practices involving constant reporting directly to our people, kanohi ki te kanohi. I am considered to have a direct and forthright manner and my challenging behavior, is not always appreciated. I do listen and have the ability and capacity to consider all viewpoints and look for solutions with practical support actions. Ultimately any benefits to Whanganui through Pakaitore Trust must be supportive towards providing assistance for the wellbeing and protection of our awa, lands and people. Any decisions for future developments must be able to answer the questions. How will this benefit our Mokopuna? That is our WERO!!!

4 Peter Gary Pehi "Ko Ruapehu te Maunga, Ko Whanganui te Awa, Ko Atihaunui-a-Paparangi te Iwi. elected as I believe I can contribute in a positive way, to the Whanganui Iwi going forward through the Pakaitore Trust. There are many issues which I feel are still in need of resolution pertaining to the wellbeing of our tangata whenua, I believe I can represent those voices on the Pakaitore Trust. I can bring a wide range of experiences to the table, I have actively been involved with Whanau,Hapu and Iwi mahi for over twenty years, mostly in the background, but also as a trustee for Marae and working groups. I am involved with the Uenuku Tribal Authority of the Waimarino District. Currently I am employed by the Ruapehu District Council working in Owhango, National Park and Ohakune at the transfer stations, I also manage holiday homes throughout the district as property manager as well as run the Whanau Farm in National Park. I have a background in conservation doc, accounting(partial degree), forestry cert, tourism, law(partial degree), teaching, dept corrections cert and much more. I have worked, hunted and lived in the upper reaches of the Whanganui most of my working life, and have lived in Whanganui and still have a home where one of my three children live today. I have lived and worked from one end of the rohe to the other Whakapapa to Taumarunui to Waimarino to Pipiriki to Whanganui, in this regard I feel absolutely privilaged and intend to continue to do so." Robert (Boy) Cribb My name is Robert Cribb but most people know me by my nickname Boy. I am reapplying for the position as Trustee for Pakaitore as I believe we still have responsibilities to and for our people. The inception of Pakaitore trust was through our struggles as iwi to obtain our rights to the whenua. This is why the old people stood their ground for us as iwi. Pakaitore Trust is an Organisation founded by our people for our people and the advantages to us as people is insurmountable. As trustee's we were given certain portfolios and responsibilities to fulfill and I believe we still have projects in progress that need our continuous service to maintain and ensure that they are completed to the satisfaction of our whanau, hapu and Iwi. Main focus 's that I am concerned about Maintaining the Mana of Whanganui Iwi for us all. Safeguarding the capital asset /Courthouse buildings grounds Accountability of funding /distribution Maintaining our integrity

5 Te Kenehi Robert Mair Knowledge and Experience in Business Management and Administration I have for a number of years had my own business as a industrial relations consultant which requires negotiating and advocating on behalf of employers, businesses and employees, in particular on matters that require conflict resolution strategies to resolve sometimes very difficult relationship problems within their business and workplaces. I have been involved in this field for over 25 years gaining my certificate and diploma in industrial relations at Victoria University. I have been directly involved in setting up an Investment Company for our Whanau Trust (Which I am chairperson and director of) to develop an economic base for our whanau. Presently we are responsible for a small forestry development, housing development and currently researching a fishing initiative. This has involved intensive Strategic planning to ensure that our economic foundations are secure for the future economic well being of our whanau. Experience in Strategic Governance and Trusteeship I am a Trustee on several whanau Maori Land Trusts namely, Raketapauma (Chairperson, Murimotu (Chairperson), Motuhou and Te Urumingi (Chairperson). As well I am chairperson and a trustee on the Tupoho Whanau Trust, which is responsible for educational initiatives, as well we are presently developing an economic strategy that will ensure that we are independent of Government funding and being able to decide our own economic directions without depending on the Crown. I am the chairperson of Pungarehu Marae and with the wonderful support of our Kaumatua and whanau we have developed a vibrant and exciting future for our Marae and this has been due to the vision and planning of all our whanau. In conclusion I have been a trustee of Pakaitore Trust for the last 3 years and believe that this trust has been very supportive of some of Iwi aspirations in particular Tira Hoe, Te Tiriti o Waitangi claims etc. Pakaitore Trust must have strong values, based upon the tikanga (customs) and ritenga (law) of Whanganui Iwi to ensure we uphold and maintain the aspirations of all descendants of Whanganui Iwi.
