3 VOLUME 16 Issue 5 Page 3 PARKE COUNTY COVERED BRIDGE FESTIVAL and OHIO NOMADS RALLY October 9-18, 2015 Parke County 4-H Fairgrounds 1472 North U.S. Highway 41 Rockville, Indiana Rally Information: The Ohio Nomads rally will be October 8-11, 2015 but camping will be available until October 18, Camping will be payable to the Parke County 4H Fairgrounds after October 11, and the fairgrounds personnel are aware that some may want to stay past our rally dates, and fairgrounds personnel will be available for arrangements Please arrive with your fresh water tank FULL and your gray / black water tanks EMPTY. All sites have electric, a dump station is available, and water is available but you will have to leave your site for these services at the fairgrounds. 5 Volume 16 Issue 5 Page 5 Presidents report It was great to hear from all of you when you called from the rally at Urbana. Heard you had another great rally hosted by Michael, and good weather again to go with it. Thanks for the cards and wishes sent my way after surgery, feeling a little better each day but still a long ways to go. Special thanks to Bev and Bill for covering for me. Hoping to make it to the dinner at the fish fry at Port Clinton September hosted by Butch and the Toohigs. Hoping that there will be no rain at this rally. Covered Bridges Festival Oct. 9-11, The Tri State Traveliers will be participating with us at the fairgrounds for this rally. The festival runs Oct but we will be there the first weekend, but you are welcome to stay as long as you like just pay at the fairgrounds office for the extra days you stay. I m figuring a lot of you will come in on Thursday as the festival starts on Friday and the drive is about 3 hours or so depending where you re coming from. There are a lot of things to do in a mile area around Rockville, Indiana including 39 covered bridges. Lots of restaurants and shops of all kinds. Working on a few things at the rally. So get those registrations filled out and we re hoping for a great turnout. Welcome aboard Stan Wietholter taking over for Carol Toohig doing the roster, big step to go paperless woo woo. Thank you Carol for the time you spent on updating the roster before handing it over to Stan. We ve had good rallies so far this year, so give Bill Nesbitt a call for rally ideas for next year. Maybe you d like to host one in your area, it sounds hard but trust me it s an adventure. If you need some advice or a helping hand reach out to one of us that has had one. The Nomads will be losing our friends Gary and Goldie Gunkle due to health issues, so keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Safe travels to everyone in all your travels. President Bonnie Edgar
