4 Teacher Notes These task cards were designed to specifically cover Common Core Standards for 3rd grade, although they can work in most classrooms, even if your state is not a Common Core state. I really do love to use task cards, and there are so many ways you can use them: in a center, as a whole group, as an exit slip, and more. I actually wrote a blog post called 16 Ways to Use Task Cards, that might be helpful to you. One of the things that s so great about task cards is that kids love them and it seems like less of a chore than doing a worksheet. They especially love it when you play Scoot, where kids solve task cards around the room and they are able to get out of their seats and move around to solve the task cards. A few notes about printing the task cards These can be printed in black and white (grayscale), as there isn t an abundance of colored ink on them. If you go with this option, I would recommend backing them with colored paper to make them pop. Ideally, printing them with colored ink if it is available, is my preference, since I love the card s cheerful colors. Also, I would really recommend that you laminate the cards and either hole punch a corner and put them on a ring or store them in a shoebox, a shower caddy, or a hanging over-the-door-shoe holder.
