21 23 Comparison glass vs. acrylic Glass has a higher UV-restistance and is more durable under different environmental conditions than acrylic. The chemical resistance of glass is higher than acrylic. Glass has a higher scratch resistance / harder than acrylic. For glass a higher temperature region is possible. It is easier to clean glass than acrylic. The weight of glass is heavier than acrylic. Glass has a significantly lower coefficient of thermal expansion compared to PMMA for polymer a compensation has to be allowed to avoid permanent deformation. Glass is not flammable different to polymers. Burning polymers can in addition cause a spread of the fire by dropping molten parts.
