5 I chose cabinet making as a career path as woodwork was a subject I loved during my school years. The Gordon has taught me about hard work and the benefits that come with putting in that little bit extra, and I ve been given the opportunity to travel around Australia and overseas to compete in national and international competitions. The teachers are passionate about what they teach, and have played a big role in what I was able to achieve throughout my apprenticeship. Many people have been willing to teach me the tricks of the trade, and I am so interested in learning. My career goal is to own my own business, specialising in custom pieces of wooden furniture and homewares. I am currently on track to also complete a Certificate IV in Small Business Management to help me step into the role of being a small business owner." KATE ELSTONE CERTIFICATE III IN CABINET MAKING 3
