1 Junior Departments Entry Deadlines: July 15th All Junior Department Entries Except Artistic Arrangements & Ag Hort August 1 st Artistic Arrangements & Ag Hort Please Check General Rules for Drop Off & pick up locations & times. Junior Department Rules 1. For Children under 18 years of age. Each entry in these departments shall have been made or produced by the exhibitor, not the parent. 2. State and Local rules that apply to all entries shall be used unless otherwise provided in these departments. 3. Open to Junior Exhibitors who are residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. 4. Premiums or Awards will be available in the buildings on the Release Date & for the next 3 weeks in the fair office during normal business hours. After 30 days from check issue date, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being Yolo County Fair Property. 5. Please Consult the General Rules for further Information. Rules for Arts, Crafts & Photography Divisions 1. Mounting & You!! Please, Please Read. a. No Glass is Allowed! b. All entries to be hung must be framed or matted on firm poster board c. and have a secure hanging devise or they will not be accepted by the Entry Department. d. Use only clear packing tape. e. Entries will not be accepted when the following tapes are used: scotch/strapping/masking or duct. f. And no rubber cement. 2. Photography: a. must be printed on photographic paper. b. Should be on poster board or in poster board matted frames ready to be hung. c. No metal or wood frames for photography. d. No embellishments. 3. For all works of arts & Photos please print exhibitor s name, phone number, and the entry class name on the back of the entry. 1

4 Junior Artistic Floral Arrangements Entries are Due online by August 1 st Flowers for arrangements need not be raised by exhibitor. All arrangements must contain fresh flowers and/or fresh plant material (foliage permitted/unless otherwise stated.) All fresh plant material must be in water other than cacti and succulent. No painted, artificial, dried or silk flowers or food with arrangement (unless otherwise stated). All accessories must be marked with exhibitor s name, address and phone number. Prize ribbon(s) may be claimed in the Flower House Monday, August 20 from 10:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. Must have placing sticker(s) or count of placing(s) to receive ribbon(s). No one will be allowed to enter the exhibit building while flowers are being accepted, except those placing completed arrangements. Only lastminute details will be allowed on these arrangements. 18 General Rules & Guidelines State Rules are available in Fair Office or online at Unless otherwise designated, all open departments exhibits are limited to residents of Colusa, Solano, Sutter, Yuba and Yolo Counties. All Adult Departments are for Exhibitors 18 Years & up. Absolutely no entries will be accepted after closing dates. There will be no refund of fees regardless of circumstances. Entry Fees can be paid by Cashier s Check, Money Order or Check and must be received by the Closing of Entries or your entry will not count. If the entry fee is refused by the bank, a penalty of $35.00 per transaction must be paid before the judging of the entry. Upon submittal of entry. Exhibitors and their agents, parents, leaders acknowledge that: o o o o o They understand the State Rules and the local fair rules; They agree to abide by them; They certify that all information on the form is true and correct; They agree to comply with the fair s decision regarding any violation of the rules, and In the case of established unethical treatment of animals or violation of drug policy rules, exhibitor s name will be forwarded to Fairs and Expositions. Yolo County Fair Management reserves the right to screen, reject entirely, or accept conditionally, any exhibit that, in management s opinion, may be in questionable taste for the general fair and attending public. All Items are judged using the American System of Judging, unless Danish System is stated prior to Division. At the Yolo County Fair, we do not pay Premiums per class unless directly stated in the Manual, instead we pay a Best Over All per division and in some cases, it is Just a Most Outstanding Rosette. For actual Premiums or Awards please refer to the individual Departments & Divisions. Unless Other wise stated the Junior Departments Best Over All Awards are 1 st - $5.00, 2 nd - $4.00 & 3rd - $3.00. Unless Otherwise Stated the Adult Departments Best Over All Awards will be 1 st - $15.00, 2 nd - $10.00 & 3 rd - $5.00. Sweepstakes Awards will be awarded in the Following Adult Departments and will have award monies of $25.00for 1 st, $20.00 for 2 nd & $15.00 for 3 rd : o Agriculture Horticulture o Cut Flowers o Baked Goods o Preserved Foods o Clothing & Textiles o Potted Plants 18

19 All ribbons (except for those given at the time of judging) will be given out when entries are released. For the protection of exhibitors, No Entries will be removed on the Closing Night of the Fair. Premiums (cash awards) are paid only in accordance with results recorded into the online program. Tags, ribbons, etc. have no value as to payment of premiums. Premiums or Awards will be available in the buildings on the Exhibit Release Date & for the next 3 weeks in the fair office during normal business hours. After 30 days from check issue date, all unclaimed premium or award monies will become forfeit and will return to being Yolo County Fair Property. Premium Checks Must be Cashed within 30 Days. No Checks will be reissued & after the 30 days all premiums revert to the Yolo County Fair. The Fair Management shall not be responsible for accidents or losses that may occur to any of the exhibitors or exhibits at the Fair. The exhibitor (or parent or guardian of a minor) is responsible for any injury or damage resulting from the exhibitor s participation in the program or event. This included any injury to others or to the exhibitor or to the exhibitor s property. Proper precautions will be taken for the protection of the exhibits, but Yolo County Fair or its representatives will not be responsible for loss by fire, theft or otherwise. The Exhibitor agrees to indemnify and save harmless Association and the State of California, their officers, servants and employees from any and all claims, resulting from any damages, injury or loss to any person or persons, including all persons to whom the Exhibitor may be liable under any Worker s Compensation law and Exhibitor himself and from any loss, damage, cause of action, claims or suits for damages including, but not limited to, loss of property, goods, caused by, arising out of or in any way connected with the exercise by Exhibitor of the privileges herein granted. 19
