8 STRATEGIC GOAL OF THE PROJECT (MISSION): TO BUILD USP TECHNICOM AS AN INTERNATIONALLY RECOGNIZED CENTRE FOR RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER IN THE AREAS OF INTEREST BY MEANS OF INNOVATIVE AND PROGRESSIVE APPLICATIONS SUPPORTED BY RELEVANT KNOWLEDGE FROM EXCELLENT RESEARCH Specific objectives of the project: 1. Organizational and managerial facilitation of the establishment and operation of USP TECHNICOM on the basis of highquality scientific management 2. Building the physical and functional infrastructure of the park as a sophisticated research and technology entity 3. Cutting-edge applied research and development in the selected fields of science and technology: 1. Information and communication technologies, 2. Electrical engineering, automation and control systems, 3. Mechanical engineering, 4. Civil engineering (construction, transport, geodesy), 5. Environmental engineering (mining, metallurgy, water management), and taking into account the corresponding social and human dimensions (impacts). The solution is focused on the coordination and facilitation of 36 selected PILOT PROJECTS of applied research and development in priority areas of USP TECHNICOM in compliance with the OP RD calls mission: The transfer of the relevant knowledge and technology from research and development into social and economic practice."
9 KEY INFRASTRUCTURE : USP TECHNICOM will consist of: 1. Estimation: laboratories, 2. Estimation: 200 new facilities. Infrastructure purchased from the project USP TECHNICOM - worth ,00 EUR (ICT) and , 00 EUR (measuring and laboratory instruments, prototypes, material). 3. Construction costs of the USP TECHNICOM buildings will amount to approx ,00 EUR. On the grounds of the mentioned strategy for UVP TECHNICOM development, seven research centres of excellence of the consortium are indirectly (through participation of their universities in the project consortium) connected to the project implementation through a specialized selection of 36 pilot projects of targeted applied R&D. PS: With reflect to the current situation lots of existing modern facilities were procured from EU resources (during programme period ) and used for R&D in relevant areas (situated in centres of excellence).
