3 EARLY SIGNS OF A MASTER Over the past 5 decades, Sheenlac has become synonymous with Wood Finishes, Automotive and Decorative Paints in India. Throughout their existence, Sheenlac has always attempted to innovate to emerge as a winner. The company has purposefully adopted a unique approach, which is evident in the way they set about launching a non-alcoholic wood polish for the first time in India; in the way they pioneered the practice of marketing Thinners in PET bottles. It all began in Mr. John Peter (Founder and Chairman of Sheenlac) started manufacturing Thinner and Wood Polish products under the Brand Name "SHEENLAC. In 1970, Mr. Paul Peter joined the organization as Factory Director and was responsible for launching Wood Polish with a non-alcoholic base for the first time in India. This was followed up in 1973 with the launch of Wood Polish in HDPE bottles this pack was a first of its kind in the Indian market. In 1983, the company pioneered the practice of packaging Thinners in Pet Bottles. In 1990, Mr. Sudhir Peter joined the organization as Sales Director and was instrumental in the organization receiving many certifications.

His interest in agriculture coupled with skills honed in real estate helped him to be a critical contributor to Sheenlac s agri enterprise La Ferme De Peter LLP. He currently heads the establishment as COO. His positive attitude and boundless energy helps him in his mission of modernising the agri sector.

In 2015, La Ferme De Peter LLP an agriculture based company was incorporated. The company offers farm management services. The activities of the company include farmland acquisition, soil improvement, water conservation, crop selection, farming, farm activities management, advisory service, research & development, organic certification coordination and sales. The company has developed about 60 acres of agriculture land in Tirunelveli District, Tamil Nadu, with the help of qualified agriculture consultants. In a phased manner this is expected to expand to 300 acres. The farming crop varieties include groundnuts, sesame, pulse and cereal. The company has initiated research & development with the intent of introducing innovative techniques, effective management practices and automation in horticulture & forestry. R&D as a department has helped the organization pioneer new practices & improved products; practices which have become the hallmark of Brand Sheenlac all through the years. Over the years, R&D spends have improved considerably.
