10 ADITYA Color Chem Properties and Fastness Properties and Fastness of leather Dyestuff have been assessed. When the proper method is available, according to the international I.U.F. Rules. The Figures, referred to the grey scales or other evaluation methods, take the usual meanings: 1-Poor, 3-Fair, 5-Very Good. (A) Solubillity Test Methods : IUF 201 Solubility is expressed as the maximum number of grams dyestuff which remains in solution in 1 Liter of distilled water at 60 c/140f. (B) Penetration The dye penetration is tested on freshly tanned chrome calf leather (neutralized and subsequently dyed) and on crusted chrome suede leather. Assessment (Leather cross - Section) 5 = Complete Penetration 4 = 75% Penetration 3 = 60% Penetration 2 = 30% Penetration 1 = Superficial Cooling ( C) Fastness to Washing Test Methods : IUF 423, VESLIC C 4230 Fastness to washing refers to the behaviour or dyed leather to washing household conditions. The specimen is washed once with an aqueous solution of 5g/l lauryl sulphate. The change of shade and staining of the attached undyed fabric is assessed with the ISO Grey Scale. (D) Light Fastness Test Methods : IUF 402, VESLIC C 4020 Leather specimen is not less than 1 cm x 6 cm and are exposed to daylight or artificial light under prescribed conditions together with eight lightness standards which consist of pieces of wool cloth dyed with standard blue dyes of different degrees of the leather specimen with that of standards. The result is expressed in a numerical fastness rating. APPLICATION Raw Materia : Full Chrome Cow Wet Blue Leather % is Based on Shaved Weight..
