Material Selection Guidlelines Specifying the correct material for your roofing and cladding installation is important to ensure its success. The Calder Stewart Roofing website provides pertinent information to help assist in the specification process, including Atmospheric and Roofing Zone Usage Charts. For additional information visit the material selection page at by clicking here. Lengths Euro-Tray roofing and cladding is made to custom long run lengths. Where these exceed 16 metres, these will require special transport and handling facilities, and consideration should be made with regards roll-forming material on site. Special allowances will be also required for thermal movement etc. Standard cut to length tolerance is: 0-3 metres +/- 0.5mm 3-12 metres +/- 2mm Over 12 metres +/- 5mm Flashings Flashings should be designed in accordance with E2/ AS1 (Third Edition) or the Roofing Code of Practice and must be manufactured from material compatible with the roof. Refer to suggested flashing details indicated in Calder Stewart Roofing s Technical Drawings (provided at the end of this document). For additional information refer to the flashings page at by clicking here. Calder Stewart Roofing can provide all neccessary flashings for your given installation. Oil canning, flatness or waviness This condition may occur during roll forming, with thermal expansion of the material or possibly during the installation process and may be more noticeable when using wide panned profiles like Euro-Tray Lite and softer type materials like copper, zinc and aluminium etc. This does not cause any damage to the product, however the owner, designer needs to be aware that this may affect the desired aesthetic look of the end project. 8 Profile Data 8 Separation Isolate dissimilar materials in close proximity as necessary by painting the surfaces or fitting separator strips of compatible materials. Place isolators between metals and treated timber and cement based materials. Do not use lead sheet in contact with or allow water run-off lead onto galvanized or aluminium/zinc coated steel. Execution Application Set-Out Carefully set out with side laps away from the prevailing wind, with the widths of end sheets the same, all sheets square and over-sailing the gutter true to line. Check during fixing to eliminate creep or spread and string lines above the purlin centres to keep the clips in-line. Forming Form stop-ends and turnaround techniques using the required tools. Seal Cut Edges In very severe marine environments seal cut edges of pre-coated steel sheet with edge protection lacquer before fixing to the roofing manufacturer s requirements. End Laps End laps are not permitted, except where specifically detailed and prior agreement given by Calder Stewart Roofing.
