Pryda Pryda has been an integral part of the building industry in Australia for over 40 years, particularly in timber truss and frame solutions with the development of a diverse range of timbers connectors, structural brackets and post anchors. Pryda provides support to architects and builders in terms of engineering advice and support, and access to product image files for placement on building plans. Pryda ensures that its products meet Australian Standards and comply with the Builders Code of Australia. Use of noncompliant products could lead to a possible risk of failure with the builders design and result in significant rectification costs.

Bracing Pryda Bracing products have been developed to be structurally sound and cost effective for bracing of roofs, walls, floors and other parts of timber framed buildings. They are designed to meet the code bracing requirements and have been laboratory tested to assure their strength, since computations without testing has shown to be an unreliable basis for assessment of performance. For fixing of all Pryda Bracing, it is essential to use galvanised Pryda Timber Connector Nails, ie. The special 35x3.15mm nails developed specifically for fixing of Pryda products. Laboratory strength testing has shown that clouts are not adequate for this purpose as their heads may pop off under less than design loads. Fixing into steel supporting structures: Pryda products can be fixed into stell using Teks screws or similar. Strap Brace Speed Brace Angle Brace: Mini and Maxi Brace
Bracing Strap Brace Pryda Strap Brace with Tensioner, is an easy to use, flat strap, steel bracing for roofs, walls, ceilings and floors. Pryda Strap Brace complies with the wall bracing rules of AS1684 Residential Timber-Framed Construction and has excellent advantages including: Saves on-site labour time as studs do not have to be notched. The un-notched studs can often be a smaller size and hence cheaper than notched studs. Available in long length coils for ease of handling and minimum wastage. Easily and quickly tensioned using the Strap Brace Tensioner. Pryda Strap Brace is ideal for bracing applications where timber braces are not feasible because of their thickness or because timber can t be bent, e.g. Exposed beams or rafters, or trusses. All Pryda bracings are manufactured from G300 Z275 ZincForm steel or equivalent for high strength and corrosion resistance in normal, interior uses.
Bracing Speedbrace Pryda Speedbrace, used as diagonal roof bracing, provides overall stability to the trussed roof and, in conjunction with the roof battens, presents lateral buckling of the top chords. Pryda Speedbrace is also suitable for use as wall bracing. Pryda Speedbrace is spliced by overlapping lengths of brace hammering flat and nailing with the same number of galvanised Pryda Timber Connector Nails as is required at the top of the plate. Advantages: Pryda Speedbrace is applied on top of the top chord, eliminating the difficulty of applying a brace to the underside of the chord as is necessary with conventional timber braces. The profile of the Speedbrace allows it to be applied without the need for tensioners as the rib merely needs to be hammered flat where it crosses the timber members. Speedbrace can be spliced easily and can be wrapped around members to provide a sound and secure anchorage. All Pryda bracings are manufactured from G300 Z275 ZincForm steel or equivalent for high strength and corrosion resistance in normal, interior uses.
Bracing Angle Brace: Mini & Maxi Brace Pryda Mini Brace and Maxi Brace can be used as bracing or nogging of Type A Bracing Units in wall frames in accordance with AS Residential Timber Framed Construction and The Wall Bracing Units Construction Code. All Pryda bracings are manufactured from G300 Z275 ZincForm steel or equivalent for high strength and corrosion resistance in normal, interior uses.

Tie-Down Connectors Stud Ties A quick, neat and effective connector between studs and wall plates. Pryda Stud Ties greatly improve the jointing of top and bottom plates to studs compared to the common nail fixing, ie.: Greater tie-down strength: Stud Tie nails are driven into the side grain of the stud to resist wind uplift in lateral shear. This is far stronger than relying on the withdrawal strength of common nails in end grain. No splitting of the timber: with Stud Ties, the careful location of the nails away from timber ends and edges avoids splitting which can occur in common nails only joints, expecially in some timbers and particularly with skew nailing. Convenience: The Stud Ties have in-built nails, there is no need for other nails. Stud Ties are quick and easy to apply, the in-built nails are readily driven home with a conventional hammer. 40 Brackets Anti-Crush Plate Fascia s Log s Pergola Angles Universal Heavy Duty Angle
Brackets Anti Crush Plate Pryda Anti-crush Plates are used to avoid crushing of the timber wall plate at supports of heavily loaded timber trusses. They do this by increasing the width of bearing and, therefore, the bearing capacity. Common applications are where girder trusses are supported on corner wall junctions and on internal supports.
Brackets Fascia Suports Special bracket for structural connection of verandas and pergolas to rafters or trusses at the fascia line. Pryda Fascia s are used to connect the overhangs of rafters or trusses to fascias or fascia ledgers so that a veranda or pergola can be adequately supported from the fascia line. Verandas and pergolas usually support only a lightweight roofing or shade cloth, but occasionally they also support or resist: (a) the weight of a worker and materials or tools carried (total design load = 110 kg) (b) forces due to the uplift effect of wind - which can also be the equivalent of hundreds of kilograms, depending on the degree of exposure of the site and roof area supported. By comparison, the design strength of two 2.8 mm nails into green softwood (such as Oregon) is only the equivalent of 44 kg (short term loading). Pryda Fascia s overcome this problem by: providing a strong fascia to rafter or truss connection, designed in accordance with AS Timber Structuresmeeting strength requirements for all common applications being fast and easy to install with five M12 or ½ inch bolts, nuts and washers. Nail holes in the support facilitate preliminary fixing for positioning.
