SCHLEICHER relays have repeatedly set international standards, not only on miniaturization and style Switching relays with time response have traditionally been associated with the name of SCHLEICHER SCHLEICHER relays have always been designed for the global market So they naturally meet all the European and international standards Our decades of success are also based on the reliable quality of SCHLEICHER products Not only has the company been meeting the ISO 900 requirements for years now, but our quality management also includes automatic in-circuit tests and active burn-in tests THE SWITCHING DEVICE PIONEER Norms, Regulations, Approvals All important national and international standards were taken into consideration during the New Generation NGG development process UL and CSA have been applied for The New Generation NGG meets the following norms: EN 682-: "Relays with defined time response (time relays for industrial applications)" IEC 6000 "Electromagnetic Compatibility" IEC ; DIN VDE 0660 Part 200 "Low Voltage Switching Devices" IEC "Protection Type IEC "Environmental Conditions" 2
PRESENTS THE FUTURE OF TIME RELAYS SCHLEICHER has put the all the skill and competence of decades of switching device manufacture into developing a completely new timer generation for all applications with state-of-the-art microprocessor technology at an extremely attractive price, using environmentally friendly materials to economize on resources Integrated concept with 225 mm housing width 6 switchable time ranges from 005 s to 300 h Multi-voltage relays - AC/DC 24 V to 240 V Multi-function relays with up to 6 functions Attractive prices through efficient rationalized manufacturing systems New Housing System The New Generation NGG has a uniform housing width of 225 mm Depending on the number of changeover contacts, the function and the remote potentiometer connection, the housing height and depth is either 83 x 98 mm or 94 x23 mm Depending on the housing type, the devices have 69 or 2 screw-type box terminals with captive Pozidrive screws The 30 mm Pozidrive-2 screws on the box terminals are designed for torque up to Nm to allow use of automatic screwdrivers The housing is made of light grey polycarbonate (PC) with flammability class V0 acc to UL 94 Conductor sizes with stripping length 9 mm: x 02 to 6 mm 2 x 04 to 4 mm 2 x 05 to 25 mm 2 2x 02 to 25 mm 2 2x 02 to 5 mm 2 (single-core or finely stranded) (stranded with wire-end ferrule) (stranded with twin wire-end ferrule) (single-core or finely stranded) (stranded with wire-end ferrule) 3
Ergonomics is a Must The New Generation NGG is characterized by clear front design and labelling, and is designed for any installation position All functions and time ranges are operated via large, easy to set analog scales on the front of the relay All controls are flush with the relay front, to prevent accidental adjustment Some versions also offer a fast setting feature for time ranges/functions on the righthand side of the housing The devices can be clipped onto standard DIN rails (35 mm, EN 50222) and removed again absolutely simply without tools s show the state of the excitation input and the position of the contacts You can monitor the countdown on a flashing An Eye to the Environment Multi-voltage The New Generation NGG is designed for DC and AC from 24 V to 240 V and 50 to 60 Hz SCHLEICHER cares about the environment We select environmentally compatible materials and methods Cadmium-free relay contacts Electrolytic capacitors without ammonium compounds Recyclable design, halogen-free polycarbonate housing Lettering by laser rather than solvent-based printing 4
Time Ranges on Multi-Range Time Relays The following 6 ranges allow you to set times from 0 s to 300 h: Time Ranges on Single-Range Time Relays The following 3 setting ranges are available: 0 to s 05 to 3 s 05 to 0 s 5 to 30 s 5 to 00 s 5 to 300 s 50 to 000 s 0,5 to 0 min 5 to 30 min 3 to 60 min 5 to 00 min 05 to 3 h 05 to 0 h 5 to 30 h 5 to 00 h 5 to 300 h 0 to s 05 to 3 s 05 to 0 s 5 to 30 s 5 to 00 s 5 to 300 s 50 to 000 s 05 to 0 min 5 to 30 min 3 to 60 min 05 to 0 h 5 to 30 h 5 to 00 h Time setting On multi-range time relays the time range is set with the RANGE selector switch and displayed in the window next to it The precise delay time is set by turning the time setting wheel Note: You can change the delay time during operation but the change is effective immediately in this case Example: To set a delay time of 5 s set the RANGE selector switch to time range 30 s and the time setting wheel to 05 (= 50 % of maximum value) This sets a delay time of 5 s The time range can be set particularly easily before installation, using a screwdriver to turn the RANGE selector switch on the right-hand side of the device After installation the RANGE selector switch can only be adjusted in single steps from the front Mounting Removal The devices can be clipped onto standard DIN rails and removed again absolutely simply without tools 5
Remote Control? You can also connect an optional remote control potentiometer to set parameters at a distance and to make time setting easier when devices are installed in enclosures Note: When a remote potentiometer is used, set the time setting wheel on the device to the right-hand stop above the largest value Operation without remote potentiometer does not require a jumper on the relay Function setting Excitation Input The rated voltage of the excitation input (B-) may differ from the device voltage (A-) The function is set with the MODE selector switch and displayed by the function code in the window next to it The code designations of the 34 available functions are listed on page 2 ff The function can be set particularly easily before installation, using a screwdriver to turn the MODE selector switch on the right-hand side of the device After installation the MODE selector switch can only be adjusted in single steps from the front Note: You must not change the function during operation because the change would be effective immediately 6
