1 COUNCIL MEETING MARCH 27, 2014 The regular meeting of Mayor and Council was held on the above date. The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM by President of Council, James D Angelo with the salute to the flag. Members of Council attending the meeting: Mr. Bollinger, Mr. Duncan, Mr. D Angelo, Mr. Sauter, Mr. Hagerty and Mr. Tregear. Mayor Filipek-absent. Councilman D Angelo called for a reading of the minutes of the previous meeting. Mr. Bollinger moved to accept the minutes as presented and dispense with a reading of the same, seconded by Mr. Hagerty. All voted in favor. PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATIONS O THE BOROUGH OF BELLMAWR POLICE-FIRE-EMS IN RECOGNITION OF A UNIT CITATION AWARD. PRESENTATION OF PROCLAMATION TO EMS SUPERVISOR CHARLES HANNUM IN RECOGNITION OF A MERITRORIOUS AWARD. PRESENTATION OF SAFETY AWARD TO MAYOR AND COUNCIL BY MIKE WILLIAMS, SAFETY COORDINATOR, IN RECOGNITIONS OF OUR CONTINUED COMMITMENT AND PARTICIPATION IN THE FUND SAFETY MANAGEMENT PROGRAM. COMMUNICATIONS: Charles Sauter, Borough Clerk, read Thank You note to Joseph Ciano, Highway Superintendent and his Department for the great job they have done regarding the snow removal this winter from Constance Kucharski, 204 Second Avenue. COMMITTEE REPORTS: Mr. Bollinger-Councilman Bollinger remarked about the Camden County Hero Scholarship Fund Annual Awards Dinner held on March 21 st at Lucien s Manor and how proud he was of the Police-Fire-EMS and Chuck Hannum on the Awards received. Everyone did an outstanding job. Thank You for all you do for our town. During the month of February we had 49 fire calls and 146 EMS calls.

2 Mr. Duncan-Spoke about the Hero Scholarship Dinner and what a nice affair they attended and Congratulations to the Police-Fire-EMS and Chuck Hannum. Councilman Duncan mentioned that our Solicitor is in the last stage of finalizing the Collection of Municipal Court Debt with First Credit Services. Mr. Sauter-Congratulations to Chuck for your Citation received and to all of our Emergency Service personnel, Police-Fire-EMS you do a fantastic job and continue to do for us. I also had the privilege to attend the Dinner and what an amazing event it was, you read in the paper and see on the news what you do day in and day out the service you provide is very much appreciated. Hopefully this is the final snow removal report I have to give, the final total is $64, to keep our roads safe to our Residents. On behalf of Joe Ciano our Superintendent of Public Works I would like to thank all of our Departments: Police, Fire, EMS, Water, Sewer, Recreation and Emergency Management a special thanks to the Police Department for enforcing the snow emergency routes and to the Board of Education Maintenance Staff working together with the Borough Personnel to help keep the closing of school days to a minimum. To date the savings on our trash disposal with Salem County is $8, and street sweeping $2, for a total of $10, Upcoming projects in town include the following now that the weather is breaking: Braisington Avenue Playground, Ethel M. Burke School Playground, asphalt repairs throughout town due to the water main breaks and the Reconstruction projects-jefferson Avenue and Railroad Lane. Mr. Hagerty-Congratulations to the Men and Women of the Emergency Services and to Chuck Hannum. Buildings and Lands Department is running fine. Mr. Tregear-Congratulations to our Public Safety Team and to Chuck Hannum, I also attended the Dinner, what an fantastic event, the Guest Speaker John West Jr. a 12 year old boy who spoke was amazing, he was the son of John West Sr. who died in the July 4, 2002 Gloucester City fire and the youngest guest speaker to address the audience in the forty eight year run of this annual event. We are working on the 2014 Budget. The Borough Website is almost complete with new contents, forms and calendar information and we hope to launch as soon as possible. On March 19 th we had a Business Alliance Meeting; we are working on concepts for a new logo so we can have decals displayed in Businesses working on literature and ways to boost the Membership. At next months meeting we will announce the date for the Spring meeting. Mayor Filipek-absent. Mr. D Angelo-Congratulations to the Police, Fire and EMS. Thank you, thanks for everthing you do. The Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, April 12 th at 11:00 AM, Saturday is also the Opening Day Ceremonies for

3 Bellmawr Baseball and Girls Softball with the Parade at 12:00 Noon. The Recreation Department is in the process of the reconstruction of the Score Booth for the Minor League which is in bad shape as we need to do a partial demolition and rebuild. Bellmawr Hockey Tournament this weekend at the Anderson Avenue Rinks.
