Establish a strategic arena where research and education meets industry and government. Establish programs between the institutions to educate candidates on Master og PhD level. Build on existing investments in Centers of excellence, research programs and advanced laboratories. Cooperate with regional actors to strengthen the capacity on research, education and industry development

20 Closing remarks: The need for cooperation The Norwegian Government has declared the High North as its most important strategic, foreign policy priority. Knowledge is identified as the main driver. The resources must be explored in a safe, environmental friendly and cost effective way. This requires the best technologies that we collectively can develop. The magnitude and complexity of the challenges requires cooperation. To succeed, we need to pool our resources. That said, the future will be shaped through international collaboration. The challenges are circumpolar and we have the same goals.
