2 PURUS recommends You are allowed to install floor gullys. Contact your insurance company to find out what applies to you. However, we recommend that the installation is done by a licensed plumbing company. Installation The floor drain must be firmly mounted at a height that enables the seal layer to to be installed properly. Before starting with the the sealing layer thoroughly read the waterproofing supplier s installation instructions. The floor drin shall be securely secured to the floor joists so that the relative motions do not occur between the drains, surface, waterproofing and flooring. + / - 2 mm. Keep the cover on the floor joist is finished. The water trap shall be mounted in the well during the installation. In connection with the floor drain, the floor slope shall be at least 1:150 to ensure runoff, but not exceeding 1:50 in order to reduce the risk of slipping. The well shall be mounted horizontally and may lean max Renovation Existing floor gullys should normally be replaced when you renovate. Floor gullys that are manufactured up to 1991 is not approved and should always be replaced. Document the renovation, for eventuela future needs. 2

3 Installation Instructions Purus Line For timber joist floors with clinkers and stainless TILE type frame The box contains: 1 Floor drain. 2. Stainless TILE frame/strainer. 3. Installation frame timber joist floor (H: 22 mm). 4. Wood screws (12 pce. 4x70 mm). 5. Stainless hair strainer. 6. Embedment fixture with 6 screws, 4x25 mm. (not illustrated). 7. Purus support for embedment (2 pce.). (not illustrated) NOTE! 4 1 Underneath the floor drin you will find snapp-in fasteners. On the installation frame are corresponding rectangular holes to snap in Press the two-part installation frame (H:35 mm) in place under the drain. 2 The drain pice is 400 mm wide. NOTE! The gully must be located centrally under the frame Make room for the drain in the desired location with recommended crossbars. Reinforce floor beams when making openings. The drain must be placed centrally in relation to the desired location of the frame/strainer. To place the frame/strainer symmetrically in the shower, the drain piece must be installed on the shower area s centre line. Width of shower area 3 PLACEMENT NEAR WALL. The drain can be directly adjacent to the wall, but we recommend that the drain be installed at a distance of 50 mm from the wall. This allows you to mount a narrow strip with floor tiles between the wall and drain, with grade from wall. This reduces the load on the floor s sealing membrane. Check that Purus Line is installed in level! Screw the drain in the timber joist floor. Use hand tools! 4

5 4 Screw the drain to the mounting frame when no rules exist for anchoring the plastic top to the frame. Connect the drain to the drainpipe. Använd handverktyg. 5 5 Lay flooring particle board. Checklist Purus Line must be mounted level. Sealing membrane must be connected to Purus Line according to the sealing membrane manufacturer s instructions. 6 The factory supplied embedment fixture is mounted on the floor drain. There are 4 marked holes for screws in the drain which match the 4 holes placed closest to the centre of the fixture. Screw one screw in each end to the particle board. NOTE: If it is grooved particle board for floor heating, mark the piping to prevent the risk of drilling through the the pipes. 5

6 7 7 Avjämningsmassa Levelling compound Particle Spånplatta board The fixture gives a compound height of 12 mm. 8 8 Once the levelling compound is dry, unscrew the six screws and remove the embedment fixture. 7 10 10 (2) (1) Mount the drain sleeve (1) in the groove and screw on tightly under the oval clamping ring (2). Press down oval clamping ring in the right position and make holes in the drain sleeve for the 6 screws with an awl. 11 The stainless frame is given a thin layer of clinker compound om the bottom before it is laid. Use hand tools! Mounted sealing membrane (1) Lay the sealing membrane (1) according to the sealing membrane manufacturer s mounting instructions. The hole in the frame is eccentrically and can thus be placed in two different directions. Note: Check whether it is possible to disassemble the drain trap. Press down the frame The groove around the frame must be filled so it is level with the floor. 15 Lay the clinkers and joint the frame with clinker joint compound. Once the clinker joint is hardened clean the frame s inner side to remove all loose particles. Tiles 8

9 16 Using a sharp knife, trim the drain sleeve that is still covering the opening down in the drain along the inner edge of the oval clamping ring. Check the trimming by dismounting/mounting the drain trap insert. 17 Lay clinkers in the inner frame using compound or with appropriate glue for clinkers that clings to stainless steel. Place the inner frame in the groove. 9

11 1 Install PURUS Line on the substructure with the help of purus supports. Press the supports in place in the snap-in attachment on the bottom of the drain. Attach the installation to the reinforcement with tying wire. The PURUS supports can be nailed or screwed to the substructure. 2 2 NOTE! This reduces the load on the floor s sealing membrane. 3 Fasten the drain to the reinfor - cement using tying wiring that goes up through the loop on the drain piece connected to the attachment for the Purus support

12 4 Screw the embedment fixture to the drain with 4 screws. The drain s height and angle is adjusted with PURUS supports. Top side embedment fixture= finished concrete floor Check that PURUS LINE is installed level! 5 Connect to drainage system. The floor is ready for pouring. 6 Checklist Purus Line must be mounted level. Sealing membrane must be connected to Purus Line according to the sealing membrane manufacturer s instructions. Pour compound. Once the concrete is dry, unscrew the 6 screws and remove the embedment fixture. 12

13 7 Unscrew the 6 screws from the drain and lift up the oval clamping ring. 8 (1) (2) Use hand tools! Mount the drain sleeve (1) in the groove and screw on tightly under the oval clamping ring (2). Check the trimming by dismounting/mounting the drain trap insert. 14 Lay clinkers in the inner frame using compound or with appropriate glue for clinkers that clings to stainless steel. Place the inner frame in the groove. 15

16 Cleaning and Maintenance Lift out the water trap, shown by picture (1). 2. If necessary, Rinse the water trap under wateter see picture (2). 3. Replace the water trap. Hold the water trap with the spring loaded body open whilst rinsed clean. Alternatively use a brush. Make sure the gaskets are completly clean so the trap is watertight. Ensure when placed back that the gully is fully inserted so the gasket is watertight using two thumbs at each side. info@purus.se 16
