5 WOOD PANEL COMPOSITE Wood Panel Composite is a 100% eco-friendly composite tile comprising of natural wood grains and interlocking base for quick and easy installation. Also, the planks are not bent, warped, split, or crack so not only it is easy to install but also virtually maintenance free. 8 WHAT IS THERMO TREATMENT OF WOOD Several thermo treating technologies were first used in the mid 1990 s in Finland and France. Presently, thermo treatment technology is conquering the world. Since 2005 in USA and Canada no chemical wood protection additives are allowed in such sectors as children s playground production, decks for waterfront homes, etc. In the European Union, chemical additives usage in wood protection was prohibited in The thermo-treatment market grows in Europe by 30% a year. T hermo treated wood The fact that wood acquires the property of enhanced endurance under heating has been known to mankind for millennia. Modern thermo treatment is carried out by means of gradual heating of wood up to the temperatures of F in special heat chambers made of stainless steel, under anoxic conditions. The anoxic conditions are required due to the fact that wood combustion takes place at a temperature of over 300 F, and the desired reactions within the wood starts at temperatures of over F. There are different modes of wood treatment: by heating in oil, in nitrogen, and in water vapour, with the lastnoted being the most effective. The thermo-treatment cycle includes preliminary drying under water-saturated conditions to reach residual stress relief, heating up to the temperatures of wood treatment, exposure to the given temperatures, cooling with condensation, and moisture saturation of the treated wood. Steam is used to prevent the wood from burning or cracking, and creates the chemical changes which result in a durable, weather resistant and stable wood product. The changes in the wood become irreversible and afford a lifetime. Thermo-treatment significantly improves various characteristics of wood and protects wood by using heat and steam without any chemical additives. The molecular changes in wood composition have a result of dimensional stabilization, protection against rot and wither, and as a result, expand usage opportunities

9 THERMO TREATED WOOD Thermo-Treated Wood is a new generation of wood material. It combines such unique properties as water repellence, weather resistance and dimensional stability. A beautiful brown tint and natural wooden grain along with these new properties make this material an ecologically friendly alternative to chemically treated wood. MAJOR PROPERTIES OF THERMO-TREATED WOOD Under high temperature treatment, polysaccharides found in natural wood decompose, while the residual humidity (4-6%) and release of connected on molecular level water eliminates the conditions for the origination fungus and microorganisms. 13 THERMO TREATED SAP GUM The sapwood of American gum tends to be wide and is white to light. The wood has irregular grain, usually interlocked, which produces an attractive grain figure. It has a fine uniform texture. Thermo treated SAP Gum Wood, available in the sizes of the length of 7 feet to 12 feet, 121 and 133 mm of width & 21 mm of thickness. Its color is pale, light yellow with few markings, none of which are very strong. The surface of pine is smooth and without raised grain. 18 HEMP SHIELD Hemp Shield Wood Finish and Deck Sealer was designed to provide excellent durability under field conditions, and to meet or exceed the requirements of the following American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) standards. This means that, unlike conventional deck sealers that can contain 47% or more volatile organic compounds (VOCs) such as methanol, formaldehyde, ethyl-toluene, aliphatic hydrocarbons, and acetone, Hemp Shield releases very few fumes during application and drying. In contrast, the low boiling point, low vapour pressure, flammable and toxic chemicals in national brand sealers are released into the atmosphere at normal room air temperature

19 Non-Toxic :- Hemp Shield is made primarily of industrial grade hemp seed oil and pure water. It does not contain any of the 280+ chemicals listed as hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) by the Environmental Protection Agency. In Clear formulation, Hemp Shield contains 0% volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In color formulations the color pigments are suspended in a solution which contains 3% or less VOCs. When these pigment solutions are Incorporated into Hemp Shield products, the results are the lowest overall VOC percentages in any nationally available deck sealer. Eco-friendly :- During application, Hemp Shield Wood Finish and Deck Sealer releases no HAPs, and only very small amounts of VOCs into the environment. Drips and spills will not contaminate the soil under and around structures protected with Hemp Shield. In service, Hemp Shield is released from the treated wood mainly through wear. In contrast, surface waterproofers, especially those that are urethane based, erode and dissolve in a short time, delivering their chemical load into the soil and water. 20 IPE WOOD IPE is commonly known as Brazilian Walnut or Lapacho. Ipe is an extremely dense, tropical hardwood with exceptional natural durability and insect resistance. When properly installed, paying attention to the natural characteristics of the wood, an Ipe can be expected to literally give a lifetime of service with as much maintenance as the customer desires. It is the only product available today that can claim to have a real potential for ZERO MAINTENANCE over its useful life. It is the wood used on the famous Atlantic City boardwalk! IPE Wood, available in the sizes of the length of 3 feet to 8 feet, 140 and 100 mm of width & 21 mm of thickness. PROPERTIES IPE wood Color/Appearance: Heartwood can vary in color from reddish brown, to a more yellowish olive brown or darker blackish brown; sometimes with contrasting darker brown/black stripes. In certain species, there are powdery yellow deposits within the wood. Ipe can be difficult to distinguish visually from Cumaru, another dense South American timber, though Ipe tends to be darker, and lacks the subtle yet characteristic vanilla/cinnamon scent while being worked. 23 CUMARU WOOD Cumaru Wood is commonly known as Brazilian Teak. It is a very hard known for exterior decking & cladding. Cumaru Wood is often used as a less expensive hardwood alternative in decking. Cumaru wood is extremely stiff, strong, and hard, lending itself well to a variety of applications. Cumaru Wood, available in the sizes of the length of 3 feet to 6 feet, 140 and 100 mm of width & 21 mm of thickness. PROPERTIES Cumaru wood Color: Before exposure to UV light, Brazilian teak is a reddish brown with yellowish brown streaks in it. After exposure, it will be a light brown in color or yellow brown throughout. Grain: The Brazilian Teak grain is fine, interlocked, and has an oily or waxy feel. Janka Hardness: 3,330 lbf (14,800 N). Cumaru has superb dimensional stability, high resistance to decay and climatic fluctuations. Shrinkage: Radial: 5.3%, Tangential: 7.7%, Volumetric: 12.6%, T/R Ratio: 1.5 Endgrain: Diffuse-porous; solitary and radial multiples; large pores in no specific arrangement, few; heartwood mineral/gum deposits present; parenchyma lozenge, aliform, confluent, and sometimes marginal; narrow rays, spacing fairly close. Rot Resistance: Cumaru has excellent durability and weathering properties. The wood is rated as very durable regarding decay resistance, though it may be susceptible to some insect attacks. Odor: Cumaru has a faint, vanilla or cinnamon-like odor when being worked

25 ITAUBA WOOD Itauba Wood is a Heavy wood, hard and easy to smooth, it produces excellent finishing. It has medium and uniform texture and it carries high mechanical resistance and extreme durability. When recently beneficiated, its sift presents olive-yellowish, becoming dark chestnut color with time. It has uniform color and irregularly lustrous and flat surface to the touch. Its smell is lightly sweetened and pleasant, almost imperceptible in the wood recently beneficiated, disappearing in little time. Itauba Wood, available in the sizes of the length of 3 feet to 6 feet, 140 and 100 mm of width & 21 mm of thickness. PROPERTIES Itauba wood Itauba wood, because of being very heavy, of low retractibillity in relation to the density, high mechanical resistance & very high durability, is indicated for exteriors. Itauba wood is a great alternative to ipe for outdoor decking and cladding. It looks like IPE, costs much less and is easier to install.
