3 M FM1 FM2 DISK DSH DISSSEMBLY TOYOT MTRIX PONTIC VIBE Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. 2 Unclip the bottom edge of the radio trim panel then lift up and out to remove. (Figure ) 3 Remove (4) 10 MM bolts securing the factory radio. (Figure B) B TUNE SEEK TRCK SCN 1

4 KIT SSEMBLY 1 DIN HED UNIT PROVISION Choose the correct faceplate for your application. The Matrix faceplate is smaller than the other supplied faceplate. #8x3/8 Screw 2 ttach the pocket to the back of the ISO/DIN Faceplate (by holding the faceplate upside down and inserting the right edge of the pocket into place then pushing the rest of the pocket onto the lip) and mount with (2) #8X3/8 Phillips screws. (Figure ) B #8x3/8 Screw NOTE: For the Matrix, break away the shaded clips along the scored lines. (Figure B) 3 Secure the mounting brackets to the pocket with (4) #6X1/4 Phillips screws. 5 KIT SSEMBLY 4 DIN HED UNIT PROVISION Mount the rear support to the back of the pocket with (2) #8X3/8 Phillips screws. (Figure D) D Two #8x3/8 Screws 5 Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure E) 6 Slide the aftermarket head unit into the cage and secure. 7 KIT SSEMBLY 4 ISO DIN HED UNIT PROVISION Mount the rear support to the back of the pocket with (2) #8x3/8 Phillips screws. (Figure D) D Two #8x3/8 Screws 5 Mount the ISO Brackets to the head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Figure E) 6 Slide the the head unit into the radio opening until the side clips engage. (Figure F) E #6x1/4 Screws 7 Snap the Trim plate into the Radio Housing. (Figure F) F 5

8 KIT SSEMBLY DOUBLE DIN HED UNIT PROVISION NOTE: Matrix not applicable Cut and remove the bottom portion (Displayed) of the mounting brackets. (Figure ) Cut and remove the center bar from the DDIN faceplate. (Figure B) ttach the ISO spacers to the mounting brackets by inserting the (4) bosses on each spacer into the (4) holes in each bracket. (Figure C) ttach the mounting brackets to the DDIN head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Figure D) ttach the DDIN faceplate over the head unit by snapping the bracket clips into the faceplate slots. (Figure E) B C E D 6

9 STCKED ISO DIN HED UNIT PROVISION NOTE: Matrix not applicable KIT SSEMBLY Cut and remove the bottom portion (Displayed) of the mounting brackets. (Figure ) ttach the ISO spacers to the mounting brackets by inserting the (4) bosses on each spacer into the (4) holes in each bracket. (Figure B) ttach the mounting brackets to the DDIN head unit with the screws supplied with the unit. (Figure C) ttach the DDIN faceplate over the head unit by snapping the bracket clips into the faceplate slots. (Figure D) B C D 7

10 FINL SSEMBLY 1 Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash and make the connection as shown. Metra recomends using the proper mating adapter and making the connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.) 2 Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation. 3 Reassemble radio and dash assemblies in reverse order of disassembly. FINL WIRING CONNECTIONS Make wiring connections using the EI color code chart shown below and the instructions included with the head unit. Metra recommends making connections as shown below; Strip, Splice, Solder, Tape.
