This range gives the architect or designer a wide variety of creative options for expression with tempered glass either internally or externally. All DORMA fittings are based on a modular system, consisting of a base unit, functional inserts, and clip-on covers in a wide range of finishes. Glass preparations are quick and easy. Quality materials and thorough workmanship guarantee a long service life and a reflection of excellence for years to come. General care instructions The surface finishes of the fittings are not maintenancefree and should be cleaned according to their material and design. For metallic surfaces (anodized finishes, stainless steel), please use only appropriate cleaning agents without abrasive additives. For varnished surfaces, please use only appropriate solvent-free cleaning agents. Brass surfaces (without surface protection) have to be treated occasionally with an appropriate maintenance agent to avoid tarnishing

9 Patch Fittings DORMA Universal General Information DORMA Universal as the name says With their broad range of options and configurations, DORMA Universal patch fittings are ideal for almost any design. Tempered glass assemblies are provided with fixed parts in a variety of arrangements with corner fittings or fin fittings at different angles, and with double or single-action doors in single-leaf or double-leaf designs. Easy glass preparation, secure fixing DORMA Glas understands the special properties of glass as a building material, designing fittings that require only minimal glass prepara tion a quick and easy cut-out with additional holes. Careful consideration and positive measures have been taken to create the maximum clamping surface with optimum clamping efficiency. Suitable for common glass thicknesses DORMA Universal fittings are available for 3/8" (10 mm) and 1/2" (12 mm) glass thicknesses. Some fittings even accommodate 5/8" (15 mm) and 3/4" (19 mm) inch glass. Reliability built in Quality materials and thorough workmanship mean that DORMA Universal fittings have the features necessary to meet the most demanding specifications. The fittings are designed to withstand large and heavy doors up to a maximum weight of 275 lb (125 kg). Rails are available for heavier doors (330 lb [150 kg] maximum), wider doors (48" [1219 mm] maximum), and high traffic doors. Matching range of locks The DORMA Universal range includes every type of accessory, and of course, a variety of locks and strike boxes in a matching design concept, giving the designer plenty of options to choose from. The DORMA BTS80 Series is certified to the requirements of ANSI/BHMA A156.4 for grade 1 closers. Specifications All floor-concealed door closers shall be DORMA BTS80 Series employing a cam and roller mechanism. The closers shall be capable of controlling interior or exterior doors weighing up to 660 lb and measuring up to 4'-0" wide exterior and 4'-6" interior. The closers will have selectable multipoint hold open between approximately 75º and 175º. The closers will have selectable delayed action to allow delayed closing from 175º to 75º. The closers will have mechanical backcheck at approximately 70º. Dual valve adjustment will provide controlled closing speed from approximately 175º opening range, even in cold temperature conditions. The closer will provide adjustment within the cement case to allow lateral and longitudinal adjustment of 1/4" and vertical height adjustment of 5/32". Field interchangeable spindles will be available to provide bottom door clearances ranging from 5/16" to 2-5/16". Optional Specifications The closers should be used with sealing compound SC2 to prevent water or cleaning solvent from entering the cement case. Floor-concealed door closers for all fire doors shall be DORMA BTS80 F. The closers shall be single-acting and have controlled closing from a full 180º. Laurence is always looking for ways to improve the product we supply our customers. We believe that "good enough" is never enough. We have made an improvement to our Jamb Alignment System in our 4", 6", and 10" (101.6, 152.4, and 254 mm) high Rails. Now with the Kwik-Adjust System just the turn of only one screw adjusts the door away from or toward the door jamb. NOTE: For jamb alignment in our Low Profile Rails see page Z422. To Adjust the Door Rail Away From the Jamb 1. Remove the End Cap (one screw). This will reveal the adjustment screw. 2. Make sure that both hex bolts are tightened against the inside face of the Door Rail, and the two Pan Head Phillips Screws are tightened to the block when adjustment is complete.
