5 A Myth for the 21st Century PBL Project Driving Question: How do the Greek myths of Ancient Greece relate to our lives today? Entry Document: How many of you have heard of or seen the movie Troy starring Brad Pitt? While many of you may believe otherwise, modern day fiction often has a basis on ancient literature and cultures. Often this role is may not be as obvious as it is in the movie Troy, or in the book The Lightening Thief that weʼve been reading in Mrs. Gibsonʼs class. Many screenwriters or fictional writers take the ancient tales and characters pull them into their writing. They rework, relate, rewrite, and redefine to make the old tales and characters new. You are now going to walk in the footsteps of such writers. Our class is going to create a brand new anthology of modern-day myths. Each of you will contribute to this anthology by introducing a new character in a myth of your own making. Similar to how the Greeks used myths to explain their culture, you are going to set your myth in todayʼs times to explain something that is modern-day. 1st Draft
