It reaches out to damaged souls through their dreams and pulls them in after death. Curse wakes up in the Nightmarescape unable to recall his former life. Review: The Author does a great job of creating the World and Characters of the Nightmarescape. The book seamlessly crosses a number of Genres: horror, sci-fi, fantasy and even mixes in a bit of a love story. And If you are a fan of action you will love this book. The pace is relentless from the first page to the last. This all combines for a very entertaining read. Jason says 4.5 Stars Nightmarescape by T.S. Dann is a science fiction horror story that could be an episode of The Twilight Zone. Cool concept and awesome characters. Tanya Simon says This book rocked! The carnage was over the top and non-stop, yet there was tenderness and kindness. The feeling that I was trapped in a horrid nightmare was unrelieved from the beginning to the very last word. I hope there is a sequel and it would be awesome as a movie. I think that when it comes to Splatterpunk, there is definitely a new force to contend with in T. S. Dann! RedemptionDenied says Well, that was one hell of a disturbing journey. I'm not sure what attracted me to this book, but I'm glad I finally got around to reading it, though it does have its faults. What happens when we die? Well, for the people in this book they end up in the realm of Nightmarescape - and that's because they dreamt of the place in their previous incarnation. For some it's hell, for others it's like being in wonderland. None of them were nice or innocent people in their previous lives (except for one of the minor characters who plays an important part). Curse wakes up in Nightmarescape not knowing who he is, or where he is. Whilst he is trying to regain his senses, another character (Larry Spectre) finds him and he soon becomes his mentor. Larry must be one of the most craziest characters I've come across, possibly. Anyway, as time goes on - Curse gradually remembers who he once was: every so often he would have memories through flashbacks. These happen when he has black-outs - which usually happen at the most inconvenient times. In one of his unconscious

4 reveries - he remembers a lost love, though he doesn't know if it's his wife or girlfriend. When he finds out about a device that can open a rip between dimensions; he sets out on a quest to find the rumoured device - so he can go back to the real world; to be with the woman he once loved - but he's not the only one looking for it. Nightmarescape is filled with people from previous era's, so there's a lot of battles throughout. There's Vikings, Egyptians, Neanderthal's, Nazi's, World War One Soldiers, Japanese Soldiers, Knights and the Plague Afflicted; these are the people who died during The Black Death. Some fight along side each other, others against one another; it's total carnage. There are tanks, howitzers and airplanes adding to the chaos; with each battle getting more intense. I liked how we find out how each of the characters: Larry, Banshee and Curse ended up in this nightmare realm. Banshee had a sad story to tell - though she was no angel. Anyway, it's one crazy ride that doesn't stop to take a breath; it's deranged, emotional, even suspenseful in places - and I'm happy with how it all ended, though initially, I was a bit worried it wouldn't end the way I wanted it to. Kshitij says Nightmarescape does justice to its name. It s like you are in a terrifying dream that wouldn t let go. Larry and Curse are absorbing characters. Their conversations are funny and mostly insane. I like the pace of book, and quick shift of scenes. Something suddenly happens when you re least expecting it. If you re in for a black humour with fleshed out characters and good action scenes, try this one. Danya says What do a bounty hunter with a chip on his shoulder, an environmental extremist who kills to make a point, and a Dr. who loves his shotgun and hootenannies have in common?? Good aim and brass balls-or at least that s the conclusion I came to after reading this book. Nightmarescape is a thrilling, shoot em up, wild ride thru crazy town, complete with a love story to boot! These characters will draw you in to their world, grab hold and make you sorry to read the last page. Banshee is probably one of the toughest, strongest female characters to come off the page in a long time. Holding her own in a demon filled world of dead warriors from every century, she is never a damsel in distress. And even, saves the main character, Curse, more than a few times. Intricate and epic battles, fill the pages, as these 3 lost souls band together in a place where there is no law or order. If this is what hell is like, then I want to be there and hangout with Curse, Banshee and Larry. A fun read, with a different style, and a little bit of something for every type of fiction fan, history, elaborate fight scenes, humor, and even romance. The idea of it and parts of the book have a Dean Koontz or Steven King feel. I did enjoy it but like I
