6 Pagers Be it digital or analogue or by text or voice message: We reliably alert you We offer a wide range of powerful and robust pagers. They enable digital or analogue alerting, offer one-way or two-way communication and provide information in text or voice messages. All of our pagers feature above average reception performance, robust characteristics and intuitive operation. With reception sensitivity of less than 2.5 µv/m, our new s.quad is the best in its class. The RES.Q combines paging and GSM as well as optional GPS in one device. Thanks to its response option, the RES.Q guarantees efficient resource management. Our HURRICANE DUO offers alerting with text and speech messages in one device. It reads text messages to the user in easy-to-understand language. Our s.quad ATEX is specifically designed for use in zones that require explosion-protected end devices that are tailored to industry and petrochemistry requirements. All of our pagers guarantee quick and reliable alerting. With the patented Express-Alarm feature, the dispatch can compile task group RIC addresses and link the alert texts accordingly. Instead of each RIC address being notified one at a time, the alert text is sent simultaneously to all needed users. Less data allows for faster transmission time, which is a fraction of that time when several individual messages are sent. Wide PLL: The reception frequency can be programmed within a Bandwidth of up to 10 MHz. The IDEA Encryption Technology employed by Swissphone allows secure transmission of confidential messages. All messages are secured from the dispatch to the pager (end-to-end) which means that messages can only be read by authorised pagers. The 128-bit protection key delivers one of the highest levels of security currently available. eco mode In idle state, the pager is set in a sleep mode and the display is switched off. Of course, the pager remains active and ready to receive alarm signals. An ATEX device is approved for use in areas with easily ignitable gas-air mixtures and is thus tailor-made for the needs of the chemical and oil industries. This robust, compact pager is ideal for those working in such dangerous environments and need to be on call at all times. Even in the most sensitive zones, the pager can be used without risk thanks to its passive RF reception characteristic and protection devices. 6 Product Catalogue 2016

7 Pagers GLOB is a replace text pattern option that allows you to either suppress text or replace it with constant text. Bluetooth technology makes it possible to connect the s.quad with a compatible smartphone and ultimately with various s.one software solutions from Swissphone. This includes, among other things, the display of the availability of the emergency services and the resources as well as the strength of the team. Hybrid combines the reliability of a paging alert with the benefits of commercial mobile telecommunications networks. The alert message is sent to the pager via paging and SMS/GPRS. Only the fastest of the alert messages is displayed on the pager screen and the other is suppressed. The paging comes into play if the public network fails and ensures alerting. 18 Pagers IDEA Encryption Secure Paging IDEA Facts: Encoded messages from input to pager (end-to-end) Secure against subsequent replaying of alerting messages (time authentication) Integration into the existing environment Clever code management Swissphone IDEA encodes alerting messages so that eavesdroppers or hackers cannot read it but that authorized parties can. Thus, Swissphone digital alerting is not just fast but secure as well. Secure paging Swissphone IDEA encryption is an option to all of our digital paging systems, and guarantees absolute confidentiality. All messages are encoded starting from their input all the way to the receiving pagers. Swissphone IDEA allows shorter transmission times and requires less memory as the AES standard, but provides the same security. Confidential information Mission orders issued by security or emergency services often contain confidential information. Whenever this type of sensitive information is communicated, it must be protected from external interference to the highest possible degree. This particularly applies to paging, a technology that is now indispensable in alarm systems. Clever code management Security cannot be achieved from a good lock alone it is also important that only a few people have the keys and that these are also kept suitably secure. The keys should be periodically changed to maintain security. Swissphone has developed a clever code management system for this purpose, making it possible to change codes securely via the wireless interface. It is not necessary to bring the pager back in to change the codes, and even if the pager gets lost, the codes still cannot be read. 19 Pagers Message Text Enhancement Talking with you / our customers, we have heard the following concern: My Message text contains things that distract me, couldn t you possibly suppress them? Examples of such unwanted and to the end user distracting text items might be: Incident Numbers Timestamps Error Codes GPS Positions The data above is there for a reason: Incident Number is useful for later reference, Timestamp may be sent out to receiver without timestamp functionality and GPS Position data can be used to guide vehicles to the incident. But many of the average users might be distracted by the elaborate data. To alleviate this issue we built the Replace Text Pattern option. The Replace Text Pattern option allows you to search for text inside the message text that conforms to certain formatting rules: e.g. Timestamp: ##:## (meaning two digits followed by a : followed by two digits). It is now possible to either suppress text that looks like this completely, or replace it with some constant text (e.g. TS for timestamps). To only match timestamps at the beginning of the message the search pattern would be <##:##. Messages get stored in the pager as they were sent, and messages that where edited using this option are prepended with an inverted asterisk. The original messages may be read out of the pager using service software. Efficient Fleet Management for Terminals Swissphone Terminal Update Tool (shorthand TUT) offers a tool for efficient and convenient configuration of terminal fleets, both small and large. Imagine you have 20 RES.Q pagers on stock. Before delivering them to the end user you would like to: Update the Firmware Set Network-Parameters (such as reception Frequency and baud rate) in all terminals Individualize the terminals with RIC s, Profiles etc. Typically you use Terminal Flasher, PSWplus and the document describing how to individualize each device. Using Terminal Update Tool, the configuration process can be streamlined: First, create a base configuration and select it in the user interface. Second, select the desired firmware and list how to individualize each device. Then, you simply press start and all you have to do is plug the terminals into the programmer and wait for the green arrow showing when TUT is ready for the next terminal. TUT is flexible, allowing you also to program only a base configuration or a new firmware. Additionally, you can set up your TUT with multiple programming cradles. One to eight cradles can easily be handled by a normal Laptop computer. This allows you to scale from small fleets managing tens of terminals to fleets including hundreds or even thousands of terminals. You can use normal Programming Set PG Set Expert as a programming cradle. The included USB to RS232 adapter cable allows you to connect up to 4 cradles to most Laptops easily. When deciding how many cradles you want, please keep in mind the following: if you use 8 cradles and do firmware update plus configuration, on average about every 15 seconds a terminal will be finished! 20 Member status/dispatch with RES.Q and s.one For certified partners only. Dispatch your forces simply and efficiently during active operations and normal day-to-day business using s.one and RES.Q. By pressing a button on their RES.Q terminal, each force confirms whether they can take part in the operation or not and how quickly they can arrive. Between operations, the forces can schedule their availability or vehicle assignment by simply changing their profile on the RES.Q. You are therefore always one step ahead of any possible incident and you can request more forces in a targeted way, within a few seconds, should they be needed. Furthermore, the automatic statistics function makes it possible to track alert cycles at any time and, for example, display the day s alert availability. Several information options are available that make it possible to access the required information at any time and anywhere. At the station, all forces read the data from a large screen. Forces that are already on the way to the incident retrieve the information on an Android or ios app or they are sent a summary via SMS or information paging. Statistical analyses are generated conveniently from the workstation and are stored or forwarded as an XML file. 21 Member status/dispatch s.one Online platform for the targeted implementation s.one is designed for quick, targeted alerting The various functions of the new Swissphone platform enable quick and targeted alerting. For example, operations directors can view the availability of relief forces or the effective strength of teams and groups on a smartphone or display screen and then alert as necessary. The s.one modules can be combined with one another in any way, meaning it is possible to start with a simple solution and use other modules to expand it into a complete alerting solution. s.one resources display how many relief forces are available at the current time. The operations director can call up the relevant list on the screen or smartphone app. The available relief forces are then displayed with a green bar and those that are not available are displayed with a red bar. The s.one monitor displays on the screen how many of the summoned relief forces have acknowledged the alert with I m coming or I m not coming or are travelling to the scene of the incident. The engaged relief forces are then displayed with a green bar and those that are not available are displayed with a red bar. If the operations director plans a certain number of relief forces for a large fire, he will be able to view on the s.one platform if he has achieved his target and how many fire brigade relief forces, paramedics or members of traffic control are ready for deployment. This way, he can quickly and easily re-alert the right personnel depending on need. The scene of the incident is displayed on a geographic map. 24 Emergency Call System IBT Intelligent Beacon Transmitter The IBT10 remains in operation even during a power failure thanks to its two internal backup batteries. They are charged by the mains adapter. The IBT20 is fed via USB with power and data. It will be connected and controlled directly to a computer. Therefore it is ideal to check the functionality of pagers. The IBT25 is connected to an alarm server (e.g. I.SEARCH) and configured via LAN. It receives messages and transmits them via POCSAG. All status information of the IBT25 can be accessed via the alarm server. Information about the exact location of an injured person is vital for rapid response. Outdoor localization is managed via GPS. In case there is no GPS signal available, stationary position transmitters take on this function. Position transmitters can be placed in buildings, tunnels and factories. They transmit their position to the SWISSPHONE TRIO cyclically. In case of an emergency the latest position received from a position transmitter will be sent to the control centre to exactly locate the injured person. 32 Paging Network Architecture Alerting networks: independent, fast, safe and reliable In an emergency every second counts. Injured persons must receive help immediately. The required rescue forces must be alerted as quickly as possible. The best way to achieve this goal is to alert via dedicated networks. They are the direct link between the command & control centre and the personnel s pagers. Alerting networks must be fail-proof and reliable in order to guarantee the best personnel availability. This requires maximum coverage and building penetration of radio waves. The backup power supply of all important system elements must be guaranteed as well. Many factors like the topography must be taken into consideration during planning and implementation. These constraints decide at the best which network type to implement. Swissphone has planned and implemented a vast number of national and international alerting networks. The following types of alerting networks are the most common: 1. Network supported Singlemasterand Multimaster Networks Network supported alerting networks connect to master base stations by LAN, WAN, ISDN or directional radio. A network consists of one (single-) or several (multi-) master stations as well as slave base stations. The master base stations transmit messages and control the slave base stations simultaneously. This ensures the safe transmission of an alert over a wide area. Capability of two-way communication allows to configure and monitor the base stations remotely to maximise transmission safety: in case of failure, alerts are automatically retransmitted. 2. Network supported Multi Baud Rate Networks Additionally to 1), Paging networks capable to transmit with multiple baud rates, can increase throughput and help migrating a vast base of pagers. This results in extremely fast response time, much better network capacity utilization as well as superior investment protection. 3. Self-reliant Networks On top of 2), Self-reliant networks allow to alert by multiple paths, e.g. from decentralized firehouses into the network. They don't rely on wired backhaul or 3rd party infrastructure. Self-reliant networks pose the most advanced paging technology. 32 Product Catalogue 2016

While the whole cluster is addressed via a virtual IP address, the single I.SEARCH systems can be accessed via their own IP address as well. Each system monitors its own hard- and software modules. The result of this surveillance is listed in a table. The comparison of both tables determines which system is active and which is not. Both Systems are in an infinite dialogue observing each other via the IP network. If the active system does not respond or the passive system reaches a higher score within the table, it immediately takes over the operation. External systems always communicate with the I.SEARCH cluster via the virtual IP address. The individual IP address of each system is used for remote access purposes only. Hardware: External IP network (switch) High Availability Cluster (One license for two redundant I.SEARCH base units) IDEA Encryption Software: IDEA Encryption for POCSAG paging is an optional software module of the Swissphone I.SEARCH platform. Operation management SW license Message Confirmation : The Message Confirmation Software is for message confirmation. It is possible to confirm messages over different input systems like SMS or DTMF Software for Messge Confirmation SW license Escalation Management : Escalation management gives the user the opportunity to assign incoming alerts and error messages to a pre-defined escalation workflow. Escalation involves one or more groups of people who are alerted in the event of an incident. Each escalation level has a minimum number of persons or resources that are alerted. If this is achieved and the appropriate number of resource confirmations has been received escalation is considered to have been accomplished and is ended. If not enough resources are available or too few positive confirmations have been received after a pre-defined time has elapsed the next escalation level is activated. Escalation can be triggered via all input systems. The following input systems can be used to confirm an alert: confirmation from SWISSPHONE TRIO or RES.Q pagers, SMS, telephone or the WEB interface. Escalation Management SW license Absence Management : The Absence Management software stands for three absence management systems folowing: - Absences of a person for a future event (works on all output systems) - Absences for Multicharger Racks(MCR); If a person is absent, so the pager is in the multi-charger plugged in, the alarm message will forwarded to another user/group. - External absences Absence Management SW license Pager Time Synchronisation : With the Pager Time synchronisation software module is it possible to synchronize the time of the pager with the system clock of the system. 47 Tetra PEI Interface IN/OUT I.SEARCH : Tetra PEI Interface IN/OUT (Functionality is SDS (Short Data Service), SMS for Tetra networks) Tetra PEI Interface IN/OUT SW license SNMP : The I.SEARCH with its alarm-server function can handle Simple Network Management Protocol SNMP. Via SNMP accessed variables are organized in hierarchies. These hierarchies and other metadata (such as type and description) are described by the Management Information Base MIB. It describes the structure of the subsystem management data and uses a hierarchical namespace containing Object Identifiers OID. Each OID identifies a variable that can be read or set via SNMP. MIB uses the notation defined by the Access Service Network ASN1. Two categories of SNMP are used: 1. Sending data from the I.SEARCH to its supervising system (output software license). It retrieves the information through the GET, GETNEXT and GETBULK protocol operations. Spontaneous information is sent to the supervisor using TRAP or INFORM protocol operations. 2.
