_ General User Guide (For Pulse Generator) 1.0 Introduction It is an innovative rectifier for plating application in both modes PULSE mode and DC mode. It provides a higher plating quality, higher capacity and especial advantages for the Plate Through Hole (PTH) PCB. There are some of advantages and features: Pattern distribution Panel Plate Through Hole (PTH) Blind via (High aspect ratio) High capacity Reliability Compact Low voltage Module add-on Sophisticated Alarm features Multi-unit control and PC control with International Communication Standard RS-485 To form a multi-unit link, up to 32 unit Pulse Rectifier units (PRU) in a single link. 4 _ 2.0 Specifications of the pulse generator control 2.1 Physical Dimension of Pulse Generator Dimension: Weight: 469.5mm* 273.2mm*180mm 10 kg (Approximate) Figure 1. Physical Dimension of PG Page 4 of 23
_ 2.2 The following are the general spec of pulse generator. The output characters of PG as follows: Forward Current Range: 0-250A Resolution: 1 A Reverse Current Range: 0-750A Resolution: 1 A Forward Time Range: Resolution: ms 0. 1 ms Reverse Time Range: ms Resolution: 0.1 ms Page 5 of 23
_ 3.0 Configuration and multi-unit control topology There are three types of configuration, which includes single unit operation and multi-unit form a link operation. 3.1 Single unit topology/configuration It is a simplest configuration with only one independent unit under operation. PG is one of module of Pulse Rectifier. A typical pulse rectifier consists of two modules, one is PG (showed as figure 1) and another is power supplier unit (PSU). Its configuration is showed as figure 2. Power Supplier Unit Pulse Generator Connecting Between PG and PSU Output of Pulse Generator Figure 2. Single unit configuration of Pulse Generator Page 6 of 23
_ 3.2 Multi-Unit topology/configuration with select one PRU as master unit Select one unit to be a master unit and other units perform as slaves, refers to the figure 3. Address 0 is reserved to Master unit only, slave unit CAN NOT set to address 0, For address procedure, please refer General User Guide. Master unit (Address is 0 ) Slave Unit (SL 1) Slave Unit (SL 2) Slave Unit (SL 31) Figure 3. Multi-unit configuration Page 7 of 23
_ 3.3 Multi-Unit with Computer as master control topology/configuration Computer through RS-485 controls rectifiers and a number of units can be connected to form a group. To form different group, in each must have a Synchrony Master Unit (SSM) and the rest units in the group are Slave unit (SL). In figure 4 shows the configuration. There have two sub-group 1 and sub-group 2. Sub-Group 1 includes SSM1, SL11 and SL12. Sub-Group 2 includes SSM2, SL21 and SL22. (Please refer to Multi-Unit Operation Instruction ) SSM Unit (SSM 1) Computer/PC Slave Unit (SL 1) Sub-Group 1 Slave Unit (SU 2) SSM Unit (SSM 2) Slave Unit (SL 21) Sub-Group 2 Slave Unit (SL 22) Figure 4.
