3 Functions and features In connection with a temperature probe the unit monitors the system temperature in machines and plants. Connectable temperature probes: Temperature sensors TM, TS, TT. Resistance thermometer RTD (Pt 00 or Pt 000). The unit detects the connected sensor type and configures itself accordingly. Function The unit converts the measured signal into a temperature-proportional analogue signal:...0 ma at [OU] = [I] / 0... ma at [OU] = [Ineg]. The analogue signal can be scaled. Factory setting 0 Technical data. In addition, the unit provides the measured signal via IO-Link. The unit is laid out for fully bidirectional communication. So, the following options are possible: -- Remote display: reading and displaying the current system temperature. -- Remote parameter setting: reading and changing the current parameter setting. 4 6 Electrical connection The unit must be connected by a qualified electrician. The national and international regulations for the installation of electrical equipment must be adhered to. Voltage supply to EN 5078, SELV, PELV. Disconnect power. Connect the unit as follows: L+ L L+ L IO-Link L LED LED / : Connection Ub and output signals Pin Pin Pin (OUT) Pin (OUT) Ub+ Ub- Data channel for bidirectional communication. Analogue signal for temperature. : Connection of a -wire measuring probe; links between / and /. A wire fault can be corrected in the menu COF. : Connection of a -wire measuring probe. LED : lit in case of operation as -wire unit, IO-Link communication is possible. LED : lit in case of a load on the analogue output.

5 7 Parameter setting Connect the unit via the IO-Link interface to the PC or PLC. In case of parameter setting with the user interface of the ifm container program, the values can be directly entered in the specified fields. For IO-Link parameter setting device-specific parameter lists at: com The following parameters can be set: OU ASP AEP COF FOU Uni Output function for OUT: Analogue signal:...0 ma [I] or 0... ma [Ineg]. Analogue start value for temperature. Measured value at which the output signal is ma (0 ma at [OU] = [Ineg]). Analogue end value for temperature. Measured value at which the output signal is 0 ma ( ma at [OU] = [Ineg]). Zero-point calibration. Setting range: ±0 K in steps of 0. K. The internal measured value "0" is shifted by this value. Behaviour of output in case of an internal fault. --[On] = the analogue signal goes to the upper end stop value (.0 ma). --[OFF] = the analogue signal goes to the lower end stop value (.5 ma.) Unit of measurement for system temperature: C or F. 8 Operation After power on, the unit is in the Run mode (= normal operating mode). Response of the analogue output in case of a fault: Value below the set measuring range --The output signal falls to min..8 ma (at [OU] = [I]), --rises to max. 0.5 ma (at [OU] = [Ineg]). Value above the set measuring range --The output signal rises to max. 0.5 ma (at [OU] = [I]), --falls to min..8 ma (at [OU] = [Ineg]).
