8 HIGH FREQUENCY HIGH FREQUENCY SI-8746 HARRIER 4-Channel, 0.5 MHz - 30 MHz, 30 MHz BW Tuner/Receiver Harrier detects very weak signals in strong signal environments. With the ability to continuously stare at the entire HF spectrum and to perform precision tuning in multiple sub-bands, Harrier meets challenges posed by a range of COMINT 1 missions. Harrier provides exceptional dynamic range, clearly exceeding the performance of conventional narrowband and wideband digital HF radios. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) Harrier is superior in its class for low size, weight, power and cost per received signal. In a 1U half-rack form factor, Harrier weighs approximately 10 pounds and consumes less than 100 watts of power, or about 25 watts per channel. Harrier is available in two or four channels, and each channel directly digitizes the entire HF spectrum from 0.5 MHz to 30 MHz. The digitized IF of each channel is precision time-stamped in VITA 49 format and transmitted over a 1-Gig or 10-Gig Ethernet link. The high frequency (HF) spectrum and available low-cost commercial HF radio products offer users affordable, reliable communications over great distance without the need for extensive communication infrastructure. Polaris was designed to extract weak signals of interest from dense signal environments, and/ or weak signals that are hidden in the shadow of strong signals. With a frequency range of 2 MHz to 6.2 GHz, the scope of signals that Polaris can intercept from its multiple channels is extensive. Still, overcoming size, weight and power challenges of portable narrowband signal intercept and surveillance applications is only one of the Picoceptor s key features. Its wide selection of configurations allows custom matching to mission requirements ranging from low-power, single-channel tactical uses to highperformance networked battlefield data streaming applications. The Picoceptor s operating temperature range and ruggedness enhance mission reliability. NARROWBAND SURVEILLANCE RECEIVER SOFTWARE With this software load, the Picoceptor can operate as a conventional narrowband surveillance receiver. The software allows the Picoceptor to perform AM, FM, CW, USB, LSB, and PM demodulation with user selectable digital signal bandwidths of 2, 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 and 200 khz. The standard receiver load has the ability to stream digital data, including audio, through the remote interface port while the VITA 49 provides additional precision time-stamping information that complies with the standard VITA 49 format. The digital I/Q 9 data with time-stamping information can be used in applications such as time difference of arrival or direction finding. Downloadable software/firmware loads and a range of FPGA 7 capabilities are available to customize for specific requirements. WIDEBAND TUNER SOFTWARE PACKAGE The wideband tuner software package expands the Picoceptor bandwidth set up to 6 MHz and allows real-time I/Q 9 data streaming over the USB interface. The firmware provides filtering, decimation and gain control but does not provide demodulation or audio processing. Drivers and utilities are also available for collecting and recording the data to a hard drive in a Linux or Windows environment. The data from the unit can be read, saved and processed with custom software if desired. HIGH-SPEED SCAN SOFTWARE The high-speed scan software package provides all the necessary software loads to allow a single-channel Picoceptor to function as an extremely fast spectral search engine providing a scanning rate of up to 4 GHz/sec. The software load provides the ability to detect RF energy as narrow as 4.5 khz in bandwidth. The user may task the Picoceptor to search the entire Picoceptor RF tuning range or multiple independent RF segments. New energy can then be monitored by 12 DDCs 3. The Picoceptor develops a baseline of a signal environment by taking successive learning passes across a signal band of interest to determine peak signal levels. An ample range of triggering mechanisms is available to define how new energy is detected including: new signal qualification, signal decay time, absolute squelch level and level relative either to the noise floor or to an established signal strength threshold

The combination of the two devices within one chassis results in a subminiature, tactical device that enhances the collection, processing and dissemination of SIGINT 11 data for unmanned aircraft and man-portable applications. The PicoRecorder s unmatched size, weight, and power and performance allows the implementation of new SIGINT CONOPS 2 previously unachievable. The PT-325 is an RF Tuner card designed to be installed within the Ettus Research Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP ) 14 N200 series chassis. The PT-325 allows USRP Hardware Driver (UHD) and GNU Radio users to experience the benefits of a high-performance RF tuner architecture that represents a major improvement over low-end, direct-conversion tuners. The PT-325 is ideal for moving softwaredefinable radio applications from laboratory settings to real-world signal environments. Export Administration Regulations (EAR) The PT-325 Tuner is installed within the Ettus Research USRP N200 series chassis. With the PicoRecorder, a 6 MHz spectrum of interest can be recorded for later examination and processing, while signals of interest within the spectrum are examined and demodulated in real time. Recorded spectral data can be selected for playback through the signal processing circuitry within the Picoceptor receiver. Recordings may be copied from the PicoRecorder using Samba open-source software via an Ethernet connection. The PT-325 tunes from 23 MHz to 3 GHz with high linearity and excellent preselection for performance in harsh RF environments. It features a traditional superheterodyne architecture that outputs digitized IF data to the USRP s motherboard FPGA 7, where it can be down-converted and decimated to produce baseband I/Q 9 data at a rate and format compatible with UHD and GNU Radio. With configurations that allow both receive and transmit capabilities, and the incorporation of significant on-board processing resources, the Vesper tuner is ideal for COMINT 1, ELINT 6, electronic support measures 5, electronic attack and future cyber applications. Vesper offers up to 10 RF channels for either high-performance receive or transmit capability, covering a frequency range from 2 MHz - 6 GHz with a 100 MHz bandwidth. Each channel s data is digitized, time-stamped and packetized via VITA 49. Tight coupling of the digitizer with the RF converter and other design techniques allows Vesper to achieve the best overall RF performance from antenna input through digitization. A Virtex 690T FPGA 7 and a multi-core Keystone II system-on-chip together offer significant processing resources and flexibility. Currently, Aurora is available for data transport; however, options such as 10-Gig Ethernet and PCI Express can be added with minimal effort.
