4 Product Description This product is a third generation member of the DD Group s successful family of dual channel constant current buck regulator boards for LED backlighting subsystems, building on the proven architecture and functionality of our CCBR product, PWM dimming, adding the following new features: Wider dimming range (1000:1) Greater output power ( up to 1.3 amp per channel maximum) Higher level of integration Programmable polarity control and range for enable, analog dimming voltage, PWM dimming controls Optional customized on-board temperature sensor for over temperature protection and/or brightness derating as a function of ambient temperature. A wider dimming range will allow the product to be used in a wider variety of applications, such as marine and aviation applications, where granularity at the lower end of the dimming range is as important, or is more important than at the upper end of the dimming range. A greater output power capability will allow us to offer an LED backlight driver for even larger LCD diagonal sizes. A higher level of integration means lower production unit costs and a more reliable product. Factory programmable control polarities will allow easy customization for differing customer requirements. Factory programmable analog dimming voltage range allows adaptation to existing dimming controls which may not be optimized for the standard product (such as an LCD controller firmware designed to dim a CCFL inverter). This product will be electrical interface and mechanically compatible with the CCBR product series so that existing firmware and cable designs may be used.
