You must use the external antenna included with the communicator (the GSM-ANTHB antenna) or utilize one of the other external antennas in its place as illustrated in this document.

1 igsmcfp4g/ipgsm-4g External Antenna Options This document applies to the igsmcfp4g and ipgsm-4g communicators. These communicators come mounted in a red fire resistant metal cabinet and each comes with a pre-attached external antenna adapter. You must use the external antenna included with the communicator (the GSM-ANTHB antenna) or utilize one of the other external antennas in its place as illustrated in this document. NOTE: the fire inspector/ahj may not approve the use of a remote mounted external antenna so please check with them prior to purchase and installation. GSM-ANTHB GSM-ANT GSM-ANT3dB 1. The GSM-ANTHB: Interior blade antenna which mounts directly on the case/cabinet (no remote mounting option available). This antenna comes with the igsmcfp4g/ipgsm-4g. It comes with all mounting hardware and attaches directly to the pre-attached external antenna adapter*. This antenna provides up to 4dB gain. 2. The GSM-ANT: Interior flat blade antenna with a fixed 10 foot long cable. It comes with all mounting hardware and attaches directly to the pre-attached external antenna adapter*. This antenna does not provide a db gain, but can be useful in applications where the communicator is mounted in an enclosed space (such as an equipment closet) and doesn t get sufficient signal strength. The 10 foot reach may allow for the antenna to be mounted outside the enclosed space where it may receive better signal, leaving the communicator itself installed within the enclosed space. 3. The GSM-ANT3dB: Interior/exterior antenna with 3dB gain. This antenna comes with the mounting bracket shown in the picture above but does NOT include cabling required to connect the antenna to the pre-attached external antenna adapter*. This antenna (along with the mounting bracket) is included in several kits that will provide the other components necessary for a complete install. These kits are explained on the next page. * These antennas also come with the GSM-EXT 4G external antenna adapter, which will not be used here. The external antenna adapter that comes pre-attached to the communicator should remain in place for all installs Updated: 6/9/15

2 GSM-ANT3dB interior/exterior antenna kits Three kits are available for the GSM-ANT3dB interior/exterior antenna 1. GSM3dBKT: This kit includes the 3dB interior/exterior antenna with mounting bracket and adapter P/N WA7626-CA, which is used to connect the pre-attached external antenna adapter to the cabling going to the antenna. This antenna kit does not include the cabling that connects between the WA7626-CA adapter to the antenna itself. The cable can be purchased separately. Cable P/N s are (5 foot), HC (25 foot), or HC (50 foot). Kits that include either the 25 foot cable or the 50 foot cable are listed below. 2. GSM3dB25KT: This 3dB interior/exterior antenna kit comes with everything required for a complete install. It includes everything listed with the GSM3dBKT and includes a 25 foot low-impedance cable that will connect to the antenna. 3. GSM3dB50KT: This 3dB interior/exterior antenna kit comes with everything required for a complete install. It includes everything listed with the GSM3dBKT and includes a 50 foot low-impedance cable that will connect to the antenna. 3 The igsmcfp4g/ipgsm-4g is shipped with a pre-attached external antenna adapter. Unless the cable has become disconnected during shipping or for some other reason needs to be replaced, there is no reason to remove the modem and/or pre-attached cable from the communicator.
