2 Dear client, We express our thanks for your purchase of radio power supply minimac series. minimac is a device able to manage: - A 5 cells NiCd - NiMh double battery pack (cod. E0054B minimac1) or - A 2 cells Io-Li Li-Poli double battery pack (cod. E0054A minimac2); this solution creats also a 5,4V 24A stabilized voltage for servos and receiver separate power. Please note: minimac1 version doesn t stabilize output voltage to servos and to receiver. In this version the loss of voltage between battery and power supplì voltage is about 0.35V. You can connect up to 6 channels of receiver with filtering servo signal system and the separate power of this one to minimac power supply. To minimac output you can connect up to 9 servos parted as follows: Channels 1, 2, 3 of double output Channels 4, 5, 6 of single output In addition minimac power supply is equipped with: - A double electronic switch ( one for every battery) - A double battery charge status indicator with memorization of minimum line. 4 Connections description: - Connect 6 socket extensions to 6 minimac output connectors identified as Channel Input - Connect the other side of extension to the channels of receiver which you want to use with minimac - Connect flat output cable of power supply to the connector of the rear of external panel with the button and 2 light indicators. - Connect the 2 power batteries to the power supply installing connectors of suitable power which aren t furnished with the power supply (recommended 2mm and 4mm golden MPX, DEANS) - at the end connect servos to outputs indentified as Servo Output following the criterion: Installation: Channel 1 -> 1A 1B Servo Channel 2 -> 2A 2B Servo Channel 3 -> 3A 3B Servo Channel 4 -> 4 Servo Channel 5 -> 5 Servo Channel 6 -> 6 Servo You must fix the device with 4 screws using 4 anti-vibrating trays on the tops of the device. We recommend to create an anti-vibrating tray with rubber vertical little columns to insulate electronical circuit of eventual vibrations transmitted by propulsive system. 5 You have to choose the place where install the panel, avoiding any places close the internal combustion or electrical engine also avoiding to place it in the same direction of exhaust gases and choose a position easy to reach to make easier the swithcing on and off by pushing the button. In addition you have to choose a good clearly place which allows you to verify at a glance the power batteries charge status in every moment. At first, you have to make 2 holes for the passage of fixing screws okf 2 light indicators and the button as shown in the illustration 1. Illustration 1 Put only the panel on the exact point of installation, draw 5 internal outlines of the button and 2 light indicators. When you have created all the holes, put the external panel and fix inside the device with the furnished screws. The button will pop out of about 2 mm from the external panel, if necessary place inside some thicknesses between the electronic plate and th fixing tray. Usage: After checking the correct polarity of the connectors, connect 2 batteries power. Be careful: Do not reverse the polarity and do not connect batteries of different voltage from that shown below. Switching on Push ON/OFF button for at least 2 seconds. The 2 lights indicators will switch on by quick flashes depending on the version (minimac1 minimac2). Pag. 5

6 E0054A = minimac2, double sequence of 3 quick flashes. Charge indicator calibrated for 2 cells Io-Li Li-Poli (7,4V). E0054B = minimac1, single sequence of 3 quick flashes. Charge indicator calibrated for 5 cells NiCd NiMh (6V). After 2 seconds, the system will be ready to use and will indicate the battery charge status according the following values and chart: VOLTAGE NiCd NiMh 5s 6V Io-Li Li-Poli 2s 7,4V FULL 1 flash every 4 sec NORMAL 1lflash every 2 sec PRE ALARM 1 flash every 500msec ALARM Always switched on > 6,3V 6,3V 6,0V 6,0V - 5,8V < 5,8V > 7,5V 7,5V 7,2 7,2V 7,0V < 7,0V IMPORTANT: The indication of battery charge, does not correspond to the instantaneous voltage but to the minimum voltage recorded during the flight. The systems records the minimum noted voltage value, which is tipically measured during the flight or under stress and keeps it until its switching off. This is a double safety system not pointed to loose any remarkable data if it is recorded during the flight, which is a typical situation when the operator cannot visually check over the battery charge status. It could happen that at the end of the flight the led diode indicates a PRE ALARM status and the next time it indicates the NORMAL status. Be careful because in any case the battery is exhausting. Switching off : You have to push the ON/OFF button for at least 2 seconds to switch off the device. When you have pushed the button, the 2 light indicators will switch on continuously, then after 2 seconds they will switched off. Then when you release the button, the device will be placed on OFF status. Pag. 6

8 USERS NOTICES: Warnings: Not put near a source of heat above +60 C, mixture of gasoline, alcohol or solvents, don t place the device in humid areas, not cause short circuits, not damage or remove the thermo constricting protection. The symbol of the crossed rubbish bin swon on the equipment or on its packaging, indicates that the product at the end of its usel life must be collected separately from other waste. At the end of its use, the user will have to bring the equipment to its suitable separate collection of electronical and electro-technical rubbish or bring it back to the dealer at the moment of the purchase of a new similar device. The proper collection of the desued recycling equipment, the treatment and the environmentally compatible disposal contributes in preventing possible adverse effects on the environment and human health and it furthers the reuse and/or the reciclyng of materials.
